Playing With Synergies Build

By Parthenopaeus, in X-Wing

When I first received my Rebel Aces pack a few months ago, I dismissed the B-Wing/E2 card; I have a tendency to put an array of upgrades on my B-Wings, and it seemed like it would only drive up the cost more.

Now, having realized the potential of Crew Members and nursing a love for B-Wings, I've found some synergy potential that I love to play with.

Lando Calrissian (44)

+ Jan Ors (47)

+ Millenium Falcon (48)

Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

+ B-Wing/E2 (23)

+ Recon Specialist (26)

+ B-Wing/E2 (23)

+ Recon Specialist (26)

The build is simple and highly defensive; fly the B-Wings close to Lando, pulling a Focus action and ending up with a Focus and Evade token each with Jan's ability. When Lando pulls a green he can hand off a TL or Barrel Roll to a B-Wing. However, this would occur a lot more often with Nien Nunb - is it worth trading the MF title and lowering his odds of survival to hand off the extra actions to the B-Wings? Does this list feature enough offensive firepower?

It's worth noting that my favorite upgrade of all time is Fire Control System - is it worth shifting some things around to try to work those in to give the B-Wings an offensive buff, or is the raw firepower itself enough to pull through?

I've never flown something vaguely similar to this list before (I don't even fly the Falcon that often), but I'm itching to take this for a spin...

Jan is once per round, so only 1 B-Wing would have an evade token.

That's true - also just noticed in the squad builder that she is only two points! So the build is:

Lando Calrissian (44)

+ Jan Ors (46)

+ Nien Nunb (47)

+ Millenium Falcon (48)

Blue Squadron Pilot (22)

+ B-Wing/E2 (23)

+ Recon Specialist (26)

+ B-Wing/E2 (23)

+ Recon Specialist (26

Just flew this build against Rexler+Ion Pulse Missiles+Ion Cannon+Deadeye, Carnor Jax+PTL, Tetran Cowall+PTL... Even without offensive buffs it packs a lot of heat because it has amazing action economy! Between the Blue's barrel roll and the Falcon's turret, you get a wide shot selection. I didn't lose a single ship (though one B-Wing lost its shields and the Falcon's hulk was dwindling). The Defender was down in the second round of shooting, and barrel rolls+turret had me lining up the whole squad for TL'ed shots. The Jan/Recon synergy had my B-Wings hard to hit as well.

I think I've found a new love - why is this build not more popular?

Looks good, but I fear it would suffer against a high PS Phantom with ADC. I do think it would make a Fat Han think twice, though. :)

Will try out! I can dig it!
