The lands of Azeroth have seen combat and war on a massive scale. Overlords, savage and terrible to behold, have slain many who have sought their riches. Warriors, mages, hunters, paladins, rogues, druids and many more have each traveled the path to legend. Each conquest leaves them a thirst for more, bigger battles, new challenges. These tales of conquest and glory have been heard by a new generation. Fresh faces now don the mantle of adventurer.
Now on sale, wave two of the World of Warcraft: The Adventure Game characters! Found within these boxes;
Thundershot, a Tauren Hunter, brings his pet wolf to the fray. Able to summon forth the tide-turning War Stomp, which prevents all other players from playing ability cards for one turn, and the soon-to-be staple Readiness, which returns the top card of his discard pile to his hand, Thundershot will be a force to be reckoned with.
The Night Elf Warrior, Shailara Witherblade, joins the forces of the Alliance. Boasting high attack values on her weapon replacement cards, this warrior goes for the throat. In addition to the high values held in such attacks as Mortal Strike, a 4 value close combat attack which prevents opponents from healing by any means for the combat, she is able to slip into a defensive stance. This stance gives her +1 defense, but reduces her attack. Rounding her out, abilities such as Quickness, which swaps the dice rolled during an encounter, give her quite a few tricks to pull.
For the Horde! Wennu Bloosinger gives foes a new reason to fear the shadows. Boasting an impressive array of shadowy tactics, this Troll Priest can deal a fair amount of damage in or out of combat. Shadow Word: Pain trickles damage onto an opposing character over three turns. Mind Control allows Wennu to transfer any damage or effects suffered during a combat to any opponent within three spaces, an ability that can save the Priest from being knocked out, or even better, that can knock out a close rival.
Big things come from small packages! The Gnome Mage, Brebo Bigshot, adds a ton of firepower to the arsenal of the Alliance. Packing spells like Flamestrike, which discards all encounters in a space and deals 1 damage to all enemy characters in that space, and Living Bomb, which attaches to an enemy character forcing them to deal damage to themselves and every enemy around them if they roll 3 movement or more on their turn, this diminutive firebug can bring the hurt, big time. Above and beyond his spells, he can flip to his combustion side for 1 energy, turning all 5’s into 6’s. Quite a vicious turn of events, for an unprepared opponent.
In addition to the new characters, events, and encounters, there are new discoveries. The four all new yellow discoveries are resolved immediately, and can provide huge benefits. The Tome of Knowledge grants a character three new ability cards upon being drawn, and Small Chest grants an item of your level. Red and green discoveries also see fresh items. Goblin Land Mine deals one damage to any character on it and one to any character close to the target. Mageblood Elixir may be discarded during the movement phase to draw until you have 10 cards in hand. Both can swing the tide fairly quickly.
These new adventurers are itching for their chance to prove themselves. Do you have what it takes to lead them to glory?
