This looks *AMAZEBALLS*. Absolutely *AMAZEBALLS*. I'm doing this to my set for sure.

1) When you highlight the edges of the map tiles, you are going over the tile in black first, letting that dry and then hitting the edge highlight with the Uni Posca Slate Grey? Or are you trying to avoid putting black on the edges?

2) Do you have any pictures of how it looks without the Uni Posca Slate Grey?

Or is there a post I'm missing where someone does two layers?

1) I used black and only black on the tiles edges. A single coat of black.

2) I used only grey on the generic tokens edges.

Panic...

I have all of my tokens painted now. Still need to hit the tiles.

Quick thoughts on the uni posca markers I linked and how they did:

• Overall very pleased. Almost all of the colors matched well.
• Green (the two mission tokens) was a little off. Light Green was too light. Dark green worked but was a little bright. Still, I think they look good. Would have preferred an olive but it worked.
• The light grey worked well. A darker grey would have been nice as well.
• All the other colors were fantastic. The red may be a little light but if it is it's not by much.
• As I'm starting painting miniatures (my Battle of the Five Armies is in process) I think these could be useful there as well.

I'd recommend the set for somebody who wants a variety of colors at a relatively low price. Playing tomorrow night so it will be the "big reveal". Now I wonder if anybody will notice.

Wait, is that the token with the white swirl on one side? I thought some missions required the color to be hidden information. Maybe not, though. I haven't progressed in the campaign since December.

Extra tip: like the OP wrote: make sure to use a neutral color for the terminals, crates AND the neutral mission tokens (the ones with a swirly thing on one side and a colored circle on the other one. I made the mistake to use corresponding colors but luckily the colors are easy to completely cover with a new color so I paint them grey. Enjoy and Merry Christmas

Don't paint the Mission Tokens, Terminals or Crates in special colors. As mentioned above the colors are "hidden information" in certain missions. But as I've also mentioned (learned through own experience) it's easy to correct the error by painting over with the grey

Thank you for this idea! The edging looks amazing and I just did it myself to the tiles. I have to use a different brand as it seems Sharpie paint markers are not easily acquirable in my country. Waiting for the coloured Uni Poscas to finish the job

A special thanks for telling about the marker approach. I painted my X-Wing cardboards with a brush and black acrylic primer and that was sloooooooooooooow. Not to mention very precise as leaks were common.

The white swirl tokens, the crates, and the terminals I used grey for the edges.

The 8 green, blue, yellow & red tokens with imperial on one side and rebel on the other I edged with their respective color.
