Proxying the YT-2400

By gundamv, in X-Wing

I want to play two Outrider lists against each other. However, since I only have 1 YT-2400, I'll have to proxy the other one. Proxying the figure is no problem as I would just have a Decimator stand in for the other YT-2400. Proxying the dial is another story.

I need a dial for some other ship (doesn't matter which ship, Rebel or Imperial) that has all or substantially all of the YT-2400's possible maneuvers. Which ship's dial do you recommend that I use? (Color of the maneuvers doesn't matter, as I would have a YT-2400 maneuver chart for reference. So, if the YT-2400 has a 3-bank right, I want to make sure that the other ship's dial has a 3-bank right, but I don't care whether that 3-bank right is a green or white maneuver.)

If you need to proxy a dial, just secretly write down your maneuver choice on a piece of paper and reveal your selection as usual. :)

Based on a cursory check, no other ship has a full set of 1-3 speed maneuvers like that.

If you have a Defender, though, you can use its 5-straight as the YT-2400's 1-straight, as it has otherwise got a maneuver in all the right places.

Make your own dial out of paper and card board.

All you need is the circle with the maneuvers on it. You can mark the choice with a paperclip and set it face down next to the ship.

It would take you all of 5 minutes to make.

Can we all take a minute and take in the magnitude of this statement: "Based on a cursory check, no other ship has a full set of 1-3 speed maneuvers like that."

It is actually 1-2 and almost 1-4, but no 3 k-turn. But still it has all but 1 option of 1-4 speed, which is pretty amazing.

I think this is simply the easiest way of donig it. You can also print this:

Circle with a pencil the maneuver and place it next to the ship face down (like any other maneuver dial)

I would make it an L shape paper cutout with 2 equal sized flaps that you can fold over the front and back. Cover the front that way, and on the back to prevent them from being able to read the impressions you might leave on the dial.

The other option is to just print a sheet of them, and use one each turn.

Great. Thanks.

I will also print out the YT-2400 dial you folks provided in color and use it for reference.

just use the "A" wings dial... lol

ummmmmm so if you have the dial already, but just need a second one...... pop the 2400 dial and photocopy it? Then paste it onto either a dial you don't want, or just a thin piece of cardboard. It might not need to be even glued.
