I really like the color schieme on the Rebel Aces A-Wings. And I never liked having two rebel Aces A-Wings and two Red striped ones. If I ran 3 A-Wings, the Red stripe one always got shot down first because he was out of the box. lol. Also many of my teams end up with a mixed force of A-Wings and HWK-290s and since the HWKs have a pretty bland color scheme, I decided to ask her to paint them up to match my precious A-Wings. What do you folks think?

The two outer A-Wings are the actual Rebel Aces A-Wings. The inner ones are my girlfriend's work.

My only thing is, perhaps a light wash to bring out the details. Should settle into the recesses and bring out some of the hidden ship panels and little details! Looks good otherwise!

While we're on the subject of A-Wing and HWK-290 teams, what is everyone's opinion on Blaster Turrets VS Ion Turrets for the HWKs? Blaster turrets seem like they can compensate for the lower A-Wing damage. Ion Cannons might keep folks alive longer though and I wouldn't need to bring Recon Specialists...

As far as turrets go it really depends on the list. If I'm running Kyle I generally go for the ion turret since he is giving out focus every turn anyway. If I'm running Jan I usually go for the blaster since her ability is not focus based.

That thought had occured to me as well. I had considered asking her to paint different numbers of stripes on each at one point but decided not to bother. I'd have had to get her to paint one of the Rebel aces ones also and I didn't want to mess with those.

I'd just like to mention that Red Squadron was originally Blue Squadron and Bacta was red. So no matter how you cut it Red Squadron will (try) to destroy the next Imperial Super Weapon
