So a buddy of mine who runs the procurement part of my FLGS says one of his suppliers is saying February for Armada. Which i know means like March or April, but still.
February release maybe?
Don't raise false hopes, or the mob will come after you with pitchforks and torches if you are proven wrong.
I would be thrilled with February, though, especially since I was expecting late Q1. The earlier the better!
With spring tournament kits advertised, and the season starting in March, they better not delay too long past February.
Armada is at the printer, so February-March seems like a reasonable expectation.
I'm expecting February myself. I wouldnt be TOO shocked if it's later, but i suspect they'll be trying hard for Feb.
It's possible, but getting less likely by the day.
Wave 6 for X-Wing was put on the boat today, and that makes it early February before it gets to stores.

Early February? Did the boat get a Galley Slave Upgrade?

Maybe
But typically it's 8 weeks from when they update the status until it's in stores. That means it should hit stores around Feb 10th.
My FLGS said his distributor said February 16th. The very next day he'd edited it to the 17th. There will be slippage, it's only a question of how much.
And i imagine that the problems they've been having with the supplier and shipping, they'd at least have a proper idea of when it'd come in this time.
Ohhhh, I want to belive this, but with FFG, it doesn't see probably, the relase dates are not to things that they respect too much, greettings.
Pre-sale link on Amazon is saying Apr 22
< wa-hah-ha>
Please tell me Amazon has a history of being full of fertilizer?
$53.96 on Amazon

$15 cheaper than Miniature Market, though sadly they only have core. I'm in the UK though, so miniature market not really an option regardless. But it's only £46 on Amazon.co.uk

I generally ignore Amazon dates...they are often picked at random. April wouldnt shock me, but i still expect March for the Core.

Okay -- apologies if I am reading too much into that -- but I will take that as evidence that Amazon is full of fertilizer.
My money is on mid-March at best.
Which is fine. Will give me some time to get some Scum & Villainy in...

Product is at the printers according to FFG Upcoming status. Let's say it's done at the printers January 1. In working days add:
- 3 days truck to port
- 5-12 days to clear customs and load on the ship unless someone is expediting
- 10-20 days ocean freight
- 5-10 days to offload and clear customs in US (assuming US dock slowdown is over)
- 5 days to distribute to US channel
50 working days if you accept printing is done 1/1 and you take worst case number of days. That places the release date at March 12th.
They've been saying 1st Qtr 2015 for release so a March release would meet that guidance.

Cool! Do you have working knowledge of such logistics?

I do. I've been responsible for projects that shipped by ocean freight and have a lot of suppliers who ship parts from AP. There are lots of assumptions made with my original post and there are always things can pop up in the supply chain, shipping, or customs that can change things. I'd like to be wrong and get Armada ASAP! It will be worth the wait.
Feb would be nice, especially Feb 17th. It would be a great birthday present to myself.
FFG, please make it so!
So I keep hearing people say a set is at the printers or in development, is there a page us mere mortals (non-suppliers with no connections for inside info) can visit to check for updates as well?
Suppliers are confirming for the end of February.

Are these trustworthy people?
Well, its the main supplier for my local FLGS, so im going to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Does your FLGS' ordering person have a notion of how good the supplier's estimates are?
Also, you said supplier s . Are we talking about just the one, then?
I'm not asking these questions to be a jerk. I just don't want to get my hopes up based on dubious information.
