One question about Martial Arts Champion against Willful

Martial Arts Champion could negate Willful effect (or BRT) or not ?

I think MAC don't negate the effect on BRT (only the drawing effect) but for Willful, the text of Martial says "negate the effects of that card". So negate only the "second effect" (discard it and draw) or all the Action effect (that I guess).

Why wouldn't it? MAC says "Negate the effects of that card" so it'd negate all effects of the card, in this case being Willful, so you wouldn't be able to save your check or draw a card or pitch Willful from your card pool.

MAC stops BRT as well.
