Im slightly amused today to find i've got a 'warning point' for my 'mmm twi leks' are hot thread which i put up as blatantly satirical response to the 'vicarious offence' taken by lots of people on behalf of other people who were not offended in the 'carrie fisher' thread.

Some people need to really realise satire when they see it.

yep im from the UK but i honestly thought putting up a post saying 'i dont know why you're all drooling over carrie fisher... i find twileks attractive' was clearly tongue in cheek... even through the harsh 'irony filter' of looking at the written word with no intonation of voice or facial expression to convey the real meaning.

Im not annoyed btw, i'm *genuinely* amused that someone found that thread offensive. Probably the same sort of person who believes in invisible chapters of old books of myth that you need special glasses to be able to read.

I got asked to join the freemasons once, i was mildly flattered but it was all a bit 'secret society' for me.

Its not we dont brush our teeth, its all that bad food we eat, cakes baked til they are rock hard like dwarf bread causing them to break.

while i realise the importance of dental care and cleaning ones teeth i've never *quite* got the obsession the US seems to have with pretty much 'dental reconstruction'. Its not that people in Europe have bad teeth, we have the same teeth you guys are born with we just dont spend *thousands* having them built into a 'perfect' hollywood smile.

Oh and i hate football, rugby and cricket are proper games.

Rugby is like your 'football' except its played by men who dont need more body armour than a combat soldier to take part and see losing an ear as an 'occupational hazard' (a game for thugs played by gentlemen) and cricket... well i'd probably need a week to explain cricket to you.

Its a lot of standing around tbh but ok when you're in bat or fielding in a position that has some possibility of seeing the ball come your way.

Again, broken fingers are considered an occupational hazard and part of the game. My father once caught a shot that should have been a 'four' and possibly a 'six' (pretty much hit hard enough to clear the boundary allowing the batsman to run the equivalent of a 'home run') and broke his hand in several places... finished the game though.

And there is *nothing* wrong with warm ales...

(we do have cold lager too you know only ours is a bit stronger than yours)

Personally, I'm partial to watching a game of Hurling myself. Rugby and Field Hockey met up and had a lovechild.

I was always brought up to understate. My wife didnt go to quite the same sort of 'old school' so thinks im being rude when i say something is 'quite good' when i really actually like it.

Here this may explain. I dont agree with the 'quite good' bit of this. I tend to understate to compliment. If something is terrible i'll say nothing.

The old pre 'necromunda' confrontation game.... my mate playtested it and we tried the stuff put in white dwarf but it was never really fnished.

One of my favourite games is 'cards against humanity' so you can probably appreciate i've got a very 'wrong' sense of humour at time.

I think its a combination of grammar school humour inherited from my father and school combined with the mickytaking 'gallows humour' of the infantry.

I *think* in my city and among people i know i'm considered quite a witty and funny bloke but it probably doesnt come across online.

I'm really clever, have great style/dress sense and i'm quite modest too.
