Seismic Charge Template?

By heychadwick, in X-Wing

Has anyone made a template for Seismic Charges. In other words, when I drop the bomb, I can place this template down, instead. After all moving, I just need to see if any base is on the template to see if it's hit. I think it could be useful if there aren't a bunch of ships already under it to begin with.

I don't necessarily mean acrylic. It could be a PDF.

So, Seismics + a Range 1 bubble?

Yep.

That would be fun to try and put down...

I don't know how viable that would be. It may be harder to place it down if there are a handful of ships in that area. Also, your opponent will know if he has to boost or barrel roll off the blast area.

Yeah, if it's open, it would be great. If not, then forget it. Still, it might be easier than "oh, you knocked it" etc.

Don't you measure from any edge of the bomb? At that point it would just be a really big template that matches the same frame as the bomb. It would be a little more than range 2 on each side.

Still, it would be great as a projection, if you have a specialty table.

If you made it see through acrylic and put it on a seismic bomb shaped plastic stand so it sort of hoverd over where it is supposed to detonate, you could easily see which ships are hit without swinging a range ruler around and potentially knocking things around. Kinda like a blast template in 40k. It is a really good idea. And you could make it like see through blueish and look kinda like the effect from episode 2. That would be very cool.

I would like to see that as a Hologram! :D

Try using a cereal box to make one! Cut out a base sized hole in the middle to check alignment.

I've given some thought to a clear-plastic topped table suspended six or so inches above a felt table. Templates would go _under_ the plastic, and minis over it. Makes it easier to move over other ships.
