Some people lay out their adventures just like the FFG ones, but I don't have the graphic design skill for that If anyone could point the way, I'd be interested too!

But this thread may at least get you started with the fonts. If they're not the FFG ones, they are extremely close.

A good way to do a plan is the same way as writing a story. You have characters already-- the players. Now you need a plot...good, bad, dramatic, horror, easy, hard etc. list out the antagonists and protagonists. List them in order of importance. Now write a time line. Inserting where you want what to happen. Remember that a basic story has a beginning middle and end. You need a climax ...the story should build into it. So insert your ideas. Create a story and tat is your skeleton for your game. Break them up into chapters (game session). You can mark what npcs are super important to be in the next adventure.
