Hello everyone
Some background:
- First time posting
- I'm a GM of a long running game and my players are around 6000exp
-----------------------------------------
so...anyway's at first the psyker in the party was equaly as good as the rest of the party
until he took out one of my "bosses" in one shot...
Using "push"(a telekinetic power)
He gave the "boss" 10 levels of fatigue and knocked him out
(a Power roll of around 63...using option 2[below])
So I'm asking how do you do "Power rolls" ?
Option 1 or Option 2...of just explain to me how it's done
because I cant belive it...
Note: his willpower is 60 & Psy rating 4
---------------------------------------------
Option 1)
Power roll: 4d10 + 6
Add Invacation 4d10 + 6 + 6
Dicipline Focus 4d10 + 6 + 6 + 2
Power well 4d10 +6 +6 +2 +1
---------------------------------------------
Option 2)
Power roll: 4d10 + 6
Add Invacation(Power roll) 4d10 + 6 + (6X4=24)
Dicipline Focus(Power roll) 4d10 + 6 + (6X4=24) + (2X4=8)
Power well(Manifesting) 4d10 + 6 + (6X4=24) + (2X4=8) +1
Power roll is every d10s you roll?(4 in this case)?
Manifesting is the total number d10s?
----------------------------------------------
And if option 2 is the correct way to do it...how do you fight that...make all be boss TB 10?
Thanks for your help

Psychic Power roles...
I looks like it should be option #1. Granted, i only briefly looked at all the math, but there shouldn't be that much math at all. With a psyker with a WP of 60, expect some sick results... though a 60 something total for a focus power roll is a bit ungodly high.
Without focusing, a payker with a WP of 60 and a Psy of 4 should only achieve a maximum of 46 on a power roll (dice: 10+10+10+10 = 40 + WPB of 6 = 46). If the psyker takes his turn to focus, then the maximum possible would be 52 (dice 10+10+10+10 = 40 + (WPB of 6 * 2 for focusing = 12) = 52)
Option #1. Basically you only add bonuses to the power roll once. Ie: Invocation only allows you to add your willpower bonus a second time to the power roll, not to every dice rolled.
It's kind of ungodly powerful the other way...
Uhmmm...Thanks for your advice,
I've double checked the rules for several hours yerterday,
and a agree with you, that it is Option 1
So...I guess I'll be pulling out the "Nerf bat" again...
teach him to "knock out" a SpaceMarine in one turn
