A Warm Welcome to "Imperial Assault" to the FFG Miniatures Forum!

By patox, in X-Wing

Let's give a warm welcome to Imperial Assault for joining the Miniatures section of the forums.

It's been in the dreaded black hole that is the Board Game section for months now.

Rumor has it that Hasbro lawyers have been complaining that FFG can't do Star Wars board games. Any truth to this? It's just a rumor after all.

Christian Petersen noted that deal that allows Imperial Assault is... complicated. Hasbro still has control of the SW boardgame license. I believe the skirmish game was made to sidestep it, or to allow the compromise.

I'm really interested in the skirmish side. Hasbro can stick to making their star wars monopoly or snakes and ladders or whatever their working on.

Darn that Hass-Bioroid mega-corp. Time to install Atman and make a run.

But it does make sense why IA is sort of a combination Star Wars Board and miniatures enhanced RPG like decent with an alternitive skirmish mode that goes into more of a traditional point limit table top miniatures game.

I dunno Empire At War ruined the whole ground battle for me.

My 10 year old brain couldnt figure out why a battle in a parking lot won me control of a planet.

YEah it would be nice if the planets had more than one ground battle map. Limitations I guess.
