So as I said in my only other thread on these forums, I love Corran Horn. I've been having a great time flying him and excellent results lately to boot. The thing is that before he came along I was a die hard A-wing enthusiast but couldn't find a team that worked for me with Corran and A-wings. I figured I'd just wait for the refit and test pilot cards to come along and I'd have no trouble building a list I like including Corran and my good old bread and butter A-wings.

Trouble is, Rebel aces has now been out for some time and despite all my experimenting I can't find a team that flies right for me with this combination. So I'm wondering if other players out there fly Corran with A-Wings and how they do it so I can try it out for myself in a dogfight. I figure if I can manage to combine my new favorite with my old favorite I might get a stronger competitive list out of it.

I'm most comfortable flying Corran with these two load outs:

VI, R2-D2, FCS (42 points)

Marksmanship, FCS, R2 astromech (41 points)

While I prefer to have PtL on my A-Wings (Who doesn't?) it isn't essential for me to be comfortable flying them. The pilot itself also doesn't matter, though I tend toward green squads for their affordability and versatility.

A list I used once while waiting for Rebel Aces was, if I remember correctly

Corran

- R2D2

- FCS

- Outmaneuver

- Engine Upgrade

Green sqdr

- PtL

- Concussion Missile

Won the two games I played with it. The first was against Carnor, Howlie, Turr and Tetran, managed to put Outmaneuver to great effect. Lost one A-wing before it could fire its missile, but in the end Corran pulled the weight just wonderfully.

In the second game I faced Jonus Brothers, Jonus with Predator and two HLC Defenders. Blew one Defender with one shot from Corran and the two missiles, then got a Range 1 flank on Jonus with Corran the next turn, double-tapping him to death as the defender murdered an A-wing, Corran lost all shields in one blow, but after a long chase Corran had finally outlasted the Defender and the surviving A-wing had 1 Hull left.

Now that we have Rebel Aces I guess you could modify the A-wings a bit, but generally a fun list.

I would personally not use either of those builds on Corran, but either way I would send this along with him.
