Until you look at the picture again and see that the turret laser is set in between the two cockpit bubbles. That should make turning the turret interesting.
I know it could be elevated pre-turn but still, who designs a turret like that?
Maybe the e-wing and the h-wing designer are the same person? Wanting the enemies who see these ships to throw up in their cockpits? 
When does Age of Rebellion take place ? E-Wings weren't even in development until well after Endor. It was around 6 or 7 years after Endor when they went into production. I know the old EU is gone and everything, but if FFG is going to use it atleast try to respect the old EU timeline to some degree.
My thought is that with the legends (old expanded universe) fiction being expunged, the powers that be have taken to making all the fighters that wouldn't have existed for a while, or in fiction that is replaced by the new canon, earlier/previous designs rather than scrap them entirely. So the e-wing may not be a design to replace the x-wing, but a design from another corporation or what not
The stories may not be canon, but all the characters and ships and everything else still exist for them to be used.
And FFG loves to dig deep into obscure stuff.

Personally I'd love to have the H-wing in the game, I always thought it would be a good addition. It's a unique vehicle with a different set of attributes to bring to the table. Yeah, it may not be the prettiest girl out there, but it's got a charm to it. Now the Belbullab-22 starfighter, there's an ugly as sin starfighter.
Oh man, TIE hunters would be amazing to fly. I'm actually kinda giddy at the possibility.
Id take an ARC due to the fact that it will, if nothing else, be different seeing as it would be a small ship with a rear arc.
It looks a sturdy boat though so perhaps give it the toughness of a larger ship (between 8/10 combined Hull/Shields hp) without much Agility and a rear arc. Combine that with a slow dial since iirc the Y-Wing was brought in to be its faster, more mobile replacement and you have a ship with its own little Niche.
Being so tough you can put it up in the Defender price range to limit numbers etc but yeah as has been said. No crew, no Turrets. Lets have something different, a heavy Dogfighter rather than another support craft.

You all realize that they release ships from a later time period than the official rpg time line so people can set their games later? It's make believe, don't read into it so much.

Or you can acceptt that turrets are a part of the game, and will still come out. Personally, I don't see the harm of adding more ships with the turret upgrade slot.

Anyway. Dunno what faction or whatever it'd be. Its a cool ship though. Love the republic designs.
Until the new canon contradicts the existence of the E-Wing i don't think anything about its story should be changed. The new X-Wings are perhaps MkII versions of the ship. Improved versions of the ship like any Fighter in WWII also had. While the E-Wing could very well still be the successor model.

Yep, and it never succeeded in replacing the X-Wing anyway. It was planned, but frankly people just didnt like it. The X-Wing instead got a ton of upgrades and new models.

The H-wing really doesn't bother me that much. But I like the Belbullab-22 quite a bit better.
There is a decent list of ships I want before the H-wing. But, I do think it will be a cool model.
I'd buy an H wing. A beefy y wing with multiple crew upgrades and a turret? Yes, please. The anger on my opponents face when his ships are blown up by my ugly h wing swarm? Yes, please.

You say this now but it can be easily over taxed energywise. After saying that watch it get a TIE Hunter only enhancement to fire
its primary with cannon and or torp. Its the One IMP fighter that has mixed energy weapons BUT CANT FIRE THEM TOGETHER. Other can like Interceptors and Defenders.

Yeah but going by LFL policy for SW products, only canon material can be produced, I would get a clear message that these are confirmed canon.

I'm consistently surprised there's no large based ships with a broadside yet. I will agree we don't need more turrets for now, though.
You know what if the rebels have a ship naming/design policy based on the latin alphabet they are screwed if they ever need more than 26 types of fighter in service.

What I don't get is why they use English letters when English no longer exists in star wars, it did in the theatrical version but has since been retconned out.
It's too late to change x,b,a and y-wings names but newer ships don't have to stick to that convention.
So: Xesh-wing, Besh-wing, Aurek-wing, and Yev-wing.

Of all the ships they could of used they go with something that appeared in a magazine that wasn't even an official star wars magazine and never once mentioned again. Nice job FFG, maybe they could I dunno use one of the other ships that have more than one reference and never used again. Like a K-Wing, or an IRD Fighter, or how about a Preybird fighter. The Preybird especially had a major part in a bunch of novels and even in a video game. Toscan Fighters, the Planetary Defender fighter. oh oh I know how about the Cloakshape fighter. That thing got mentioned just about any time pirates showed up, comics, novels, video games...the Cloakshape was everywhere for a while.
The R-41 Starchaser showed up quite a few times in novels and games, another little ship you guys might of heard mentioned once or twice, the Skipray blastboat. I think it might of had a "minor" part in a couple stories. Or hey how about a T-Wing, everyone used the T-Wing. Rebels, pirates, smugglers, planetary governments. Or how about Black Sun's replacement for the Starviper, the Supa Fighter (not the most original name Super fighter!).
