Comes in at a whopping 47 pts. She can easily lay a hurting, and Sensor Jammer should keep her alive to fire off both torps, which with Recon Spec and DeadEye should land some serious hurt.

Dropping E2, Recon Spec, and DeadEye for Push the Limit is also an option.

IMO, AdvS is going to be necessary to pull this off. By the time you're close enough to close to R1, the enemy is going to want to block you to prevent you from getting your focus/TL combo, so being able to take your action beforehand would be necessary, especially on the second one IMO. Also, it allows you to do the 4 straight to close the distance if need be.

Furthermore, Nera would have to survive 2.5 turns to get the second APT off. Assume the first turn is at R2-3, and then two in the furball. So the first turn all guns are going to be on her, and SJ won't do anything really since no collisions are going to happen, and she's not mobile enough to force actions to be used on maneuvers.

Agreed that there are some issues here. And I'm not saying it's a ship I'd run.

But to your points - I'd probably run her with a few Zs and maybe Biggs to help up her survivability. The issue is whether or not she could cap enough enemy ships to make her worth the trouble.

As it is, I'm likely just going to run her with Flachettes for the time being.

I quite like the setup but its just too much points for my liking. I've flown against her once and its scary seeing the APT turret coming at you but unfortunately its just a big juicy target for high PS phantoms.

Her PS is too low to really pull it off. People will just avoid her and fire from Range 2 onward until she is dead. B-wings aren't that manueverable to make it hard.

If you switched them to regular Proton Torpedoes...and some way of getting a TL as well (PTL, Dutch, Squad Leader, etc) then you can see some damage.

In fact, pair her with Jan Ors w/ Squad Leader and she can get 5 dice Proton Torpedoes w/ TL and Focus without the need for having to TL during her action. She just moves and Focus (giving her two). Then, Jan Ors gives her the TL and an extra attack die. Nera fires with a 5 die Torpedo at anything in range 2-3 with a Focus and TL.

That's taking things extreme, but you would see more use out of that then the original.

You could try running her in tandem with Chewie.

Maybe Chewbacca w/ Intimidation (or something else),Gunner, C3P0, and title. That's 53 points. Maybe even tactical jammer to screen for Nera.

Send Chewy into the fray and cause some chaos. Hang Nera back until she's ready to pounce and deliver a killing shot. Bug her back out or send her around the back side of the enemy formation to land her send shot. It could work.

Biggs w/ SU and two bandits could work at well.

This 37 point Nera is pretty punchy:

Nera, Dead Eye, B-wing/E2, Recon Specialist, Fire Control System, 2x Flechette Torps.

You can bump her up to 41 points by swapping the Flechettes for Proton Torps.

I like both and would fly them.

Nera has to fly differenetly from other B-wings. Fly her long -i.e. past her targets to unload her torpedos.

Herm... If you're going to go with Jan w/ SL and PT isntead of APT, might I suggest that you put Predator on as your EPT? That way you can reroll a blank since the PT don't have any impact on blanks.

Though you could also stick with Deadeye, and use the F to fire the torps, and the TL to reroll all the dice, relying on the PT ability to convert an eye.

If you have Recon Specialist, you get 2 Focus. Fire with one Focus. Use TL to re-roll any blanks. Use the 2nd Focus to convert any eyeballs that aren't autot-corrected to critticals. If you use Jan to boost it, you have a high probability to do damage. You could even hurt a cloaked Phantom.

I really like Deadeye on Nera as her low PS means high priority targets may be moving after you do. This let's you still keep them as targets so long as they stay in range.

Needing the TL just opens up problems against fast/slippery targets like Phantoms.

I always include a Ion Torp with my Nera, and alternate between a Proton Torp and a Advanced Proton Torp.

I don't think they would take much more kindly to being called thick.

I have a setup sorta like this, didn't consider ReconSpec, but will have to consider it. But 2x Flechette Torps and deadeye, paired with a Y-Wing with an Ion Turret.

As a big fan of Nera, I love these two builds. The dual APT seems a tad optimistic, but dual torps makes sense. But what about one APT, one torp?

Not much point in using them on Nera. Completely wastes her pilot ability if you're always gunning for the front arc.
