I understand at character creation that you can not have an ability over 5. However I do not see any way to get something to a six. Any input?

The Dedication talent in most of the talent trees allows you to increase a characteristic by 1, up to 6.

There are also cybernetic enhancements that can pump certain characteristics up. But yeah, Dedication is your bread and butter in this respect.

Are you asking how you can get to 6 after character creation? Or are you asking how you could get to 6 during character creation for this rule to come into play? If you are asking the second one, the answer is you can't and it is a useless rule (at least currently).
