need a little help

By dieselxweasel, in X-Wing

Hey guys. I just started playing x wing not too long ago with my freind. He has everthing that has come out so far and he let's me use his minis.I have played about 10 matches with the rebels and have yet to lose. I'm getting the core set soon and I want to start collecting my own armies. I want to get the yt2400 and some other stuff. I'm not too picky. So I was wondering if someone could set me up with a 100 pt rebel list that uses the yt2400 ☺ thank you

Here's one: I call it the Level 5 Sidekicks.

Leebo (YT-2400)

+ Determination (Elite Pilot Talent)

+ Heavy Laser Cannon (Cannon)

+ Lando Calrissian (Crew)

+ Experimental Interface (Modification)

.-={48}=-.

Chewbacca (YT-1300)

+ Lone Wolf (Elite Pilot Talent)

+ C3P0 (Crew)

+ R2D2 (Crew)

+ Millennium Falcon (Title)

.-={52}=-.

100 points even.

It only requires the Millennium Falcon expansion, the Outrider Expansion, and the Transport expansion.

Should be a blast as long as you don't mind dropping $100.00 for two ships. If you want to save a little money, I'd consider a fat 2400 with a support group, like maybe 4 Tala Squadron Pilots instead. You'll spend $40 bucks instead (plus shipping) and you can pick them up just about anywhere instead of having to pay outrageous aftermarket on evilBay. I think it's also so much more fun to have more than just two actions and two moves per turn. This, however, is my $0.02.

Honestly, just have fun and don't take the game too seriously. It is, after all, a game :-)

What is a fat 2400... and what are 4 Tala pilots?

Sorry. I'm still semi new to the game

fat refers to a ship that has a few defensive upgrades, and Tala is a z-95 pilot card, generic.

but in reference to your question, I recommend just getting ships you think are cool and build what you will.

you can't buy a "bad" ship. The only thing I would say is don't try to build the core of your force with A-wings or y-wings.

But after that have fun.

My personal favorite list I used was dutch Vander with r2d2 and the ion turret. And wedge I think. I really like the e wing and headhunters. I love the yt2400 though. That is pretty much my favorite ship

It only requires the Millennium Falcon expansion, the Outrider Expansion, and the Transport expansion.

Only he says :D

The Transport is not something you'd seriously suggest a newbie to buy I hope? And try getting your hands on a Falcon these days. :P.

Nice list though, that's true.

Have a look around http://xwing-miniatures.wikia.com/ and look at what each ship comes with.

For instance, an Ion Cannon Turret only ships with Y-Wings and HWK's and those are two ships I expect to soon start becoming more popular and thus more scarce, once the new faction rolls around. Especially the Y-Wing.

And if you want to put an Ion Cannon (not the turret) on a YT-2400 you'll have to buy a Slave-1, B-Wing or TIE Defender.

Knowing what comes with what will help guide your purchases.

I ve had fun with a fully loaded yr2400 (dash rendar, heavy laser cannon, outrider title and whatever crew you fancy) couples with corran horn with r2d2 and sensor jammer.

I *think* you could do that 100 point list with the core set (r2d2) and a yt2400 and an ewing.

Its only two ships but can pump out 10 damage dice a turn. dash is vulnerable at range 1 but corran flys close.

put some range one ordnance on dash in case he gets caught short or corran buys the farm early.

its not the best list but would be cheap to get started.

As you already have an xwing from the core set you coudl downgrade both corran and dash to fit in a third ship as a cheap filler liek a rookie Xwing.

But... popular opinion is that dash and corran both work well when 'points heavy' and suffer a bit un upgraded

If you want to play as the Rebels, get a core set, X-Wing expansion, and the YT-2400 because you love it and it's cool. :)

After that, I'd look at a couple Z-95s, an A-Wing or two, a B-Wing or two, and then Rebel Aces.

Yeah, I suggested the Tala Squadron Pilots because they come in the Z-95 Headhunter expansion packs which can still be found. At least in my area and the sites that I visit to purchase from, everyone is sold out of both A-Wings and B-Wings and getting very low on Y-Wings.

Like was said before, explore the Wiki, buy what you think is cool, and kick some tail!

Hello, hope i can help...

If you are gonna begin in this game you will need the core, step one. If you are facing rebels you already have the x-wing from the core so you next buy is a x-wing expansion for wedge antilles. At this point you have 2 ships with almost pilots for this class. Now you need to complete your set.

You must have in mind that is not enought buying a ship and to have all necesary to bring that ship in game with the correct or optimum set up, so if you want the yt-2400 think about what are the upgrades you want for it and what are the ship that it becomes with.

If i were you my next buy could be a hwk-290 and a b-wing or z-95, why? Because you can run 2 x-wings (biggs darklighter, wedge antilles) and roark garnet with the seg of upgrades that expansion brings.

Biggs darklighter 25

Wedge antilles with markmanship 31 (dont remember now)

Roark garnet (blaster tourret, recon specialist, mouldy crow title) around 30

Z-95 headhunter airen cracken with swarm tactics

Oh, i forgot, you will need a tie fighter expansion to for the basics.

As i said before, maybe you want to play with yt-2400 but you will save money in long term if you do your boughts in proper order.

It only requires the Millennium Falcon expansion, the Outrider Expansion, and the Transport expansion.

With that set up you have to buy the tantive and for a begginer is not the best option.
