Thank You All

By Moah Deeb, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

The Force is strong in this one.

Of course!!! What did Ben tell Luke? "Your eyes can deceive you. Don't trust them."

Luke was a n00b.

So what inspired you to start playing Edge?

My Dad was already running a game for my brother and some of his friends. One of them moved so they had an opening. My dad suggested getting me to join. At first, it was Pathfinder but that didn't work at all for me. They switched to EotE a couple of weeks later and I gave RPG's another try and I've been hooked on EotE and Star Wars since!

Great to hear! What character are you playing?

I'm loving this conversation. Just goes to show...

"Do not underestimate the power of Star Wars, or suffer your father's fate you will. Forever will it dominate your destiny; consume you it will."

Great reading.

Ooh! I like that question. :)

Briaala is a twi'lek Colonist / Doctor... or that's how she started out, anyway. The other players had murder-hobo on their minds as a holdover from their Pathfinder days so they nominated me Face. To do that role better, Briaala branched into Politico early on and Performer once the Far Horizons book came out (those Performer defensive talents are awesome... but the joke quickly became that she had to pay for med school SOMEHOW!). I think I would have skipped Politico in favor of Performer but the book wasn't out or we didn't have it. Politico is a schemer. Briaala is too nice to be a schemer.

Throughout the campaign, there were little events and things that seemed unconnected but, based on those, the GM started dropping hints that Briaala could be Force Sensitive if I wanted to go that route. It took me a while to finally decide to do it but I did. She's an Exile for now since she's untrained (and F&D is in Beta!).

She's not the light saber type, though. She isn't looking for training, either. It'll have to find her but, you know, "The Force shall provide." so that might happen eventually. For now, she's afraid of what it means to be developing these abilities because she bought into the propaganda about Jedi but also because she knows that, at this point, she's a criminal just for living. I like this little twist a lot. I've always liked her as a character but, ever since this became a concern for her, it's like she writes herself... I don't have to think about it any more.

tl;dr Twi'lek, Force Sensitive Doctor / Politico / Performer with just a hint of angst...

The best threads always do seem to evolve beyond their original intent! :)

*edit* dang-nabit, still can't get this quoting thing to work right on this forum. This post is in response to Hayley's post at #26 above.

Haley, it is a shame that I can only like a post once. When I read your post, my wife poked her head into the computer room and asked me what I was applauding.

Well played and +1000 internet points.

Tell your dad to give you a bonus blue dice on your next skill check on me for being cool. I'll give one of my players a bonus black so that the balance of the universe is not disturbed.

The universe might feel better balanced if I give my daughter a setback die instead. Really, she won't mind.

Aww, but there goes an excuse to give my horrible lot of players a free set back dice!

"Good drama" is the only excuse an Edge GM ever needs.

Wow! Tyvm :)

I will definitely tell him and show him this as proof! As soon as my head deflates...

I can always take TWO boosts and spread the setback wealth. ;)
