So I am playing my friend tonight and he usually plays Rebels and I almost always play Empire(read 4 out of over 80+ games). Well he wants to use his new Decimator, so he told me that I will be Rebels tonight. I really don't like Rebels that much as I like to use movement and arc dodging along with good fire power(Interceptors and Phantoms are my favorite ships) and I am not sure how to make that work with my inexperience with Rebels. I was thinking just taking a few Y wings and maybe a YT(either one - I have both, have used neither)and just do the typical Rebel easy mode turret thing. It might be a refreshing change of pace and will be a little more forgiving to my lack of dial knowlegde/practice. I was also thinking of using a few A wings maybe. So here is the deal. I would like to know what Rebel list you all have been running to at least decent effect vs Decimators. Do you go quantity over quallity? Or some thing else? I have every expansion with three or more of everything except Rebel Aces(1) the Outrider(1) the Millenium Falcon(1) and the Hwk290(1). See what you can come up with. I will be most greatfull.
List help needed!! I never play Rebels and will tonight!!
2 X-wings and 2 B-wings will tear a Decimator apart. Depends what he brings as an escort though. If they are arc-dodgey you might be in trouble.
Biggs walks the dogs is my go to suggestion for anyone who's playing rebs but doesn't normally.
Biggs (25)
Rookie (21)
2 Daggers with advanced sensors (54)
If you don't like AS I'd recommend FCS's on the daggers and swap the rookie out for either tarn or a green squadron A-Wing with title, PTL, Outmaneuver, and the refit.
If you or your friends have the ships and cards for it, here is some fun builds:
Your Gonna Go Far(lander), Jan. (Or, Super Heavy Laser Cannon. Or, Opticore)
-Keyan
--Oppertunist
--HLC
-Jan Ors
--Ion Cannon
-Wes Janson
(leaves room for a 1 point upgrade on Jan or Wes)
The B's (Oh god not the B's!)
-Nera Dantels
--Deadeye
--Torpedo
--Ion Torpedo
--Recon Spec.
--B-Wing/E2 Mod
-Dagger Squadron x2
--Fire Control System
--Ion Cannons
--Tactician
--B-wing/E2 Mod
BBXYZ
-Blue Squadron x2
-Rookie Pilot
-Gold Squadron
--Ion Cannon Turred
-Z95 Headhunter
Report Card
-Green Squadron x5
--PtL
--Refit
-----------OR-----------
-Green Squadron x4
--PtL
--Predator (or some other 3 point ept)
--Refit
--Auto Thrusters (or some other 2 point upgrade)
--Prototype Pilot
(or take a 2 point ept and a 3 point upgrade)
Those Pesky Rebels are Evading our Turbolasers
-Luke
--Lone Wolf
--R2-F2
--Stealth Device
-Tarn
--R7
(40 points of something also slippery)
I'd go with Biggs Walks the Dog. It's straight forward and effective.
You can both play the Empire. Play what you love.
That said - try a list with synergy. That's the fun of the rebels. Jake Farrell and Kyle Katarn rocks my knee high socks.
Thank you all for your suggestions. I think I am going to go with a XXBB list. I am not sure how that will turn out just yet, but we'll see. Thanks for all your input.
Han Solo + Gunner + C3PO + Milenium Falcon Title
A couple of x-wings
Fly Han away from or around enemy ships hoping to engage only a few of them at a time. Unless you really need to do something else, you will evade every turn. Also the first time you get shot at each turn you guess you will roll 0 evades. Then C3PO will give you an evade.
Some people think this is a way OP. It isn't however, it is easy to fly well.
How do you normally fly Empire? I'll help you build a list that plays similarly ![]()
I've had good luck with this:
Wedge 29
R5-d8 3
Engine upgrade 4
Veteran instincts 1
protom torp 4
41
Airen 19
Vet instincts 1
Homing missiles 5
25
Jan Ors 25
Blaster turret 4
Saboteur 2
moldy crow 3
34
4rebels looks very good vs Decimators unless hes good at PTL Isard EU post-boosting.
