First Attempt At A Scum List

By FTS Gecko, in X-Wing

Because I'm bored yet enthusiastic.

N'Dru Suhlak - Lone Wolf, Hull Upgrade (22)

Kavil - Blaster Turret, R4 Agromech (30)

Syndicate Thug - Ion Cannon Turret, Unhinged Astromech (24)

Binayre Pirate (12)

N'Dru Suhlak is the bomb. Lone Wolf is default but what about Engine Upgrade to boost him out of range of his allies?

Aye, keeping him at Range 2+ of allies is the tricky part - in this build at Range 2+ he becomes a cheap X-Wing with high PS and rerolls - but it also exposes him quite a bit. Engine Upgrade's always a bonus but I'd need the extra point to pull it off. Drop the Unhinged, maybe?

Kavil's a bit of a beast too.

Could drop Unhinged but it is only 1 point. I haven't play tested N'dru and EU yet. I don't have any Zs so I have to borrow my friend's.

I am so excited to try a repaint of his ship. I wonder if they will sell scum Z expansion packs with Binayre Pirate colour scheme. I'm more likely to use those than the black sun soldiers.

I'm thinking exactly the same thing - N'Dru's card art is amazing. My Z-95's are all sitting very nervously on the shelf at the moment. As are my Firesprays, I want to give the Andrasta a go as well.

I quite like the Black Sun colours - I'm thinking a couple of StarVipers backed up by a Black Sun Soldier mini swarm will look quite impressive...

I can't wait to get my hands on Scum--mostly for the Y-wings. The rebel pilots/astromechs available just don't do them justice.

My only beef (which is really a 1st world problem) is that the salvaged astromechs synergize so well with Kavil (and Y-wings in general), that I can't find a good EPT to use with him, unless I throw in an Engine Upgrade as well.

Quite right. They do look impressive. I'm going to leave out the Rebel Z's and just get 2x Most Wanted. 1 Becomes N'Dru, and the others who knows, if I can figure out how to not suck at painting I might repaint as the pirates. If not, they do look much cooler than the rebels.

Star Vipers are too hawt. I have been building lists with Kath n' her pirates that include N'Dru, Palob, and Guri in different iterations.

Well, the obvious choice would be Determination! ;)

If I didn't already have 3 x Rebel Z-95's, I'd probably go 2 x Most Wanted myself, as it is one of the Rebel Z's will be getting the N'Dru treatment.

I'm really looking forward to seeing what the Scyks and IG2000's have to offer as well.

Whoa, I just had a thought:

Guri seems like an excellent Adv Proton delivery system. You can PtL to Target Lock and Boost or Barrell Roll into range 1, then collect your Focus token for maximum effect.

The biggest problem with Advanced Protons has always been actually getting to use them--there's so much setup. Until now the ships that could carry them either already had 3 dice attack, or they weren't maneuverable enough to get into range 1 AND have the TL/Focus for max effect.

Keyan is capable of the same thing, but at a cost of 3 points more. Have to add EU to him to get similar maneuverability, but he still has a lot of dial that's red, which inhibits his maneuverability (when using PTL). Plus, he has a Cannon slot, so HLC is almost always going to be the better choice if you want to upgrade his firepower even more.

I know, I know, the Star Viper already has 3 dice, but man, the damage Adv Protons can do!

This was my first try a few days ago. I added Palob because he is probably as ridiculous as Kavil...

HYDRAS OF BINAYRE

100 points

PILOTS

N'Dru Suhlak (19)

Z-95 Headhunter (17), Lone Wolf (2)

Kavil (30)

Y-Wing (24), Blaster Turret (4), R4 Agromech (2)

Palob Godalhi (27)

HWK-290 (20), Veteran Instincts (1), Blaster Turret (4), Outlaw Tech (2)

Binayre Pirate (12) x 2

Yea, the HWK's clearly the better choice over a Syndicate Thug in that build!

Palobs pilot ability is ridiculous. I realized i wouldnt need VI on him because at first i thought he steals a token when he shoots... but no it's at the start of the combat phase. I left it in though in order to have 3 PS 7 guys. Makes for good flexibility in movement and firing order.

You can also go bigger on Palob and add Opportunist to get another 4 AD ship, while also taking Recon specialist or Gunner. But this gets him over 31 points which i find too much!

I'm liking what I'm seeing here. Really, even without the StarViper, M3-A and IG-2000 there are tons of really cool options with only the ships in Most Wanted. Aside from the Firespray, the other three ships are cheap to deploy but still have lots of wiggle room with the excellent choice of astromechs and illicit upgrades.

@bubblepopmei- While I understand you're mostly an Imperial player the Rebel Z-95 is a fun addition to lots of lists. Both the generics and especially Airen Cracken add a lot to synergy and decent filler! While I want to like Blount more, he is a point or two overcosted in my opinion, because otherwise he'd be ripe for loading upgrades onto. Also, Wingman is a very good upgrade for stress heavy lists.

N'Dru Suhlak has to rock with Lone Wolf and Cluster Missiles. 2 4-dice attacks with a reroll of 1 blank for each.

I also think Blount's ability should be "free," which would make him one point cheaper. Really, I think that pretty much any ability that enhances ordinance should be free to offset the (already overpriced) ordinance.
