Scum/Smugglers "Core" Starter Decks

What do you guys think would make good Objective sets for both Scum and Smugglers to make equivalent 48 card 'starter decks' like those found in the Core game for the other affiliations? Obviously, the two in the core set would be a must. Add in one of each Objective set found in the Hoth cycle and top off with Edge of Darkness ones? I'm brand new to the game so I don't really know which ones would be best suited to make the decks comparable in strength/synergy to the other pre-made ones in the base game. Thanks in advance.

I've worked a little on developing community starter decks. The trouble is getting them tested. My first question is, what is the card pool you have to work from?

In a thread on CardgameDB, we've been brainstorming starter decks to be built with 2x Core and 2x Edge of Darkness so that you have 6 mono-affiliation decks that are decently balanced.

However, if you want decks that are on par with the core decks, I'm not sure. I think I'd still stick to Core and Edge of Darkness.

I think I might try starting with the 4 from the core set. Add to each of those their respective objective set that comes in Edge of Darkness. Now they are all at 9 objectives. Next, take the 7 Scum/Smuggler cards from Edge of Darkness and to each the respective objective set from the Core (Boba/Han). Then add Tribal Support to Smugglers and Corporate Exploitation to Scum. Now you have 6 decks with 9 objectives each.

But I'm just making this all up. I've never played with these. You'll notice that I'm not using the neutral sets from Edge of Darkness. That's because I think the Light Side ones are quite powerful while the Dark Side ones are somewhat lackluster. Granted, you could argue that Tribal Support is stronger than Corporate Exploitation, but the objective ability on Corporate Exploitation seems to fit in with the Scum tricks (Action: Focus this objective to put a unit of printed cost 1 or lower into play from your hand).

Of course, if you have 2x Core, you could throw in Reconnaissance Mission and Hit and Run into the Scum/Smuggler decks instead of Tribal Support and Corporate Exploitation.
