Hi guys,
This is my custom Death Star Trench. I used four cardboard boxes for the four main sections. The emplacements and the shield generator are also made entirely of cardboard and some balsa wood. The only plastic is in the barrels of the cannons.

It looks great!! You should play a big game and then do a Battle Report. I have no clue about rules for you though.
Look for dagobah dave's trench scenario. It seems pretty solid.
