Three Amigos is the convention.
Opportunist at PS9 does basically nothing, ever. Dead points.

You have PS10 Wes removing tokens and stressing so it forces the other player to only take one action per turn.

VI Wes is a 10, and the most reliable thing in the game for making Opportunist go off.
Ooooooh yeah.
For some reason I was thinking Wes was one of the target-lock related dudes.
Need my coffee...
I played the original list in the regionals this year with great success. Adding in the stress droid makes a lot of sense and will keep Dash from piling on actions. Lone Wolf on Luke however I see as a slight downside to the newer version. One thing this squad does very well is eliminate targets. This requires a strong focused attack. Keeping Luke in a flanking position will reduce your chance to have that strong focused attack. There are so many options you can add into that 34pt slot, Vrill or Farlander could even be options for filling out the list. Either way I think it's a good starting point.
I do agree Osoroshii, i would prefer Luke with predator atleast to be able to keep in formation when i want to slice and dice. Yeah, Luke late's game potential would be wasted against a whisper, or the likes. Probably a draw their fire/veteran instincts + iniative bid would be better overall for Luke. But i will still give it a go.
The other alternative is Keyan, but i don't really like him.
So the list was (maybe it has another name, that's how i called it) :
Wes Janson (29)Veteran Instincts (1)Wedge Antilles (29)Opportunist (4)R2 Astromech (1)Luke Skywalker (28)Opportunist (4)R2-D2 (4)A classic.Wave 4 it suffered a lot due to phantom + swarm, and Fat Hans list that could outmaneuver them. But the Wave 5 reduces a lot of phantom + swarm lists, same with Fat Han Z's and Fat Han himself. But now that creates a window of opportunity (pun unintended) to get this list going. All the ships have better PS than Dash, that mitigates his barrel rolling shenanigans. With the current meta, we see a lot of self stressing mechanichs being abused to survive. So you know what's good to do to a ship that's stressed and it's not ionize ?A second stress token! That way you will be able to either chase down the enemy ship by forcing it to do greens and being easier to kill if already stressed. Not to speak about how much phantom players love dealing with it.Of course this forces me to remove Opportunist from luke, which with the new upgrade Lone wolf opens to a more solid flanking Luke.Wes Janson (29)Veteran Instincts (1)R3-A2 (2)Wedge Antilles (29)Opportunist (4)R2 Astromech (1)Luke Skywalker (28)Lone Wolf (2)R2-D2 (4)Total: 100

If you swap Wedge and Luke's loadout to:
Wedge
+Predator
Luke
+Opportunist
+R2D2
you will have what I played at worlds and went 4-2 with. My two losses were to a TIE swarm (the worst match up, easily), and Roark/B/B/X (Probably its second worst match up). I beat two phantom (whisper) lists, a Rexler list, and a double falcon list.
I think it will be fine in a post Decimator/Outrider meta since neither of those ships outnumber it and are relatively easy to focus down and kill first.
Probably not the best list ever, but it is really fun and pretty competitive if you can avoid swarms for the most part.
Vrill can have some up side with Wes handing out stress and stealing actions. He would be a big meaty target and helps to punish the stress inducing ships with a turreted attack, there's even room for a tactician for him
for enough stress to cause a therapy session.
Yes in my opinion swarms and Roark + Something will always be an issue. Ties, where they have the numbers, even tho a lone wolf Luke can survive quite a lot of 2 attack firepower, but Xwing's dial isn't amazing so it very depends on your asteroid placement, movement, etc, tough match up.
Roark's problem comes when you are not able to kill one ship before it strikes back. B's in that case, are hard to take down, thought it is possible, but if you don't evaporate it on one phase, next turn he will just Roark that B so it will get to shoot a second time before dying. The list really needs to reduce the amount of attack thrown at them. That's why i think on a low count ship meta like this one it may work.
Thx for the feedback Hida, the list truly shows an elegant solution to my dilemma to remove opportunist from somebody. That way wedge doesn't get stressed and can maneuver better to avoid getting trained, so the R2 is unneeded and he still provides major firepower, and Luke have the opportunist + R2D2. Yeah i liked it, i will try out with lone wolf first, but if it doesn't work, yours is next for sure.
