And if anyone knows how to fight its christopher lee.

the man was in SOE and hunted and killed nazis and aided the resistance behind the lines in WWII.

True hero playing a villain (and unfortunately not a very good portrayal of a very weak concept villain)

What's SOE?

Yanks, if you aren't involved your never taught it because there's nothing out side the state's, and when it comes to movies you take credit for our bloody accomplishments like Ben Affleck winning the battle of Brittan or U571 where Americans got the enigma machine.

And you wonder why Europeans are so snooty with you ;)

Do we really need a big thread bashing Lucas and/or the prequels? I can go to IMDB if I want that.

It wasn't even the message the OP started with, just a random comment that Lucas hadn't seen the teaser yet.

But you could of played along, jeez I have a dark side quota to fill here and I can't jump out of kids closets until their bed time.

Its wiki but yeah they didnt think that one through much :)

"Marion entered into a relationship with Indiana Jones during this time, while she was still only 14 years old.[1] Jones abruptly left the Ravenwoods in 1926; Marion was about 16 or 17 years old when the relationship finished, and Jones was 27, ten years her senior. Later in her life, Marion chastised Jones, stating, "I was a child! I was in love! It was wrong and you knew it!" Jones showed little remorse, and simply replied "You knew what you were doing." "

No sure what the age of consent was in 1926. I'd imagine it was about 16 though as it was in the UK with parental concent from the 18th century.

Is that actually mentioned in the film then? To be fair, even at 14 she'd still be better than that women in Temple of Doom...

Could /have/ played along! Yanks, wouldn't know proper English if it slapped you in you're face.

I do that to irritate pendants and grammar nazis, like I said I got me a quota :)

The first Star Wars (episode IV) was great. It had fantastic special effects for its day, and they still look good today. The story was epic and you had characters that you felt attached to. Lucas created a fantastic new movie going experience for me. Loved It!

Then like a lot of sequels the next two were just not as good as the first. The ewoks were the writing on the wall for what was to come next from Lucas. The last three films released were really bad. It was so sad to see how totally off EVERYTHING was in the last three releases.

I am hopeful now that Lucas is not directly involved, that the next three Star War Films will be more like the first release.

In any case to see Mark Hamil and Harrison Ford as Luke and Han again will be really cool.

Ah, Jaba.s yaht and palace. I did think that was fantastic. The setup for that was very well laid out. I stand corrected on that.

But anyway Christopher Lee is a legend but much like the younger actors struggles to perform when all you have is a green screen to work off, hell ewan McGregor was making fun of the film's in interviews even before the trilogy was done he knew full well they sucked.

True. I may not be objective when I say NP is a very good actress, but I actually think the annoying guy who played grown up Anakin is actually pretty good too, in other films. Well, maybe even in Star Wars - was he trying to play an annoying whiney twit?

I think I do like Ewan McGregor better than Alec Guinness as Obi-Won to be honest. Plus he's related to Denis Lawson, who plays the best character in all the movies (sorry Temuera, Wedge is cooler than Cody).

George Lucas:

Set up LucasFilm, Industrial Light and Magic (has made visual effects for over 300 films), Skywalker Sound (about 30 films a year, have won 18 Academy Awards) and Pixar, all of which have done massively more than just Star Wars, has made a huge number of films, has used his fortune (including a lot of the Disney sale) in a wide range of philanthropic endeavours. The Rebels series that gets talked about a lot on this forum and despite being a kids show is fairly popular? That's an evolution of Clone Wars which George Lucas was directly behind. Also behind LucasArts which, while it may have got to **** in its last few years due to severe mismanagement issues, produced a huge and wide ranging amount of material since it opened in 1982. Monkey Island springs to mind. Oh, and he's why credits are at the end of films.

This is barely scratching the surface.

But no, he made three films that weren't as critically acclaimed as three other films he made (they were still massive box office successes and the people who claim to loathe them "because it's cool" are not the majority), and thus he deserves to be hounded and mocked by a massive internet circlejerk for the rest of his days.

Yeah dont forget "ZOMBIEEES ATE MY NEIGHBORS" and its sequel. If GL didnt exist nor would these games. Also when production for "Return too Oz" went down hill Disney called GL to take the director wheel.

The majority of people that saw the new trilogy loved it esp ep 3. This new trilogy suffers the same problems the AvP movies have suffred from. Movie viewers / cinema fans as the majority loved them. The " fans of the series on the other hand are split around 50 / 50 when it comes to liking them.

1. too much CGI and its not even that good. All the aliens would actually look loads better if they were people in suits liek the OT.

3. everything is too clean, like star trek. I get its the 'golden age' of the republic but it would still have been lived in for centuries and it doesnt look it.

4. the reasons for dispute are rubbish... trade. Its not the same as an evil empire strangling freedom and a desperate fight for life.

5. Jar jar binks... its bad enough hes total F***witt in the first one and annoying but like as if they would make a tool like that a senator.

6. Sith... only having two is a really daft idea. they are not *that* powerful. But you can only have two but there are like 300 jedi. If the sith had decent recruitment programme they wouldnt need to do so much mucking about.

9. Anakin's love story.... if you watch the first two back to back like did it seems mental that hes got the hots for someone about a decade older than him and a little 'yewtree' (british reference) that amidala wants him.

@1: the problem with using actors is it limits how far you can make a alien "alien." You can make puppets physically look about as alien as you want them BUT they have movement issues most people in a suit dont have to worry about. Also some off those characters created by FX teams are down right dangerous to work around, like all the Internecivus Raptus Queen puppets or the Newborn puppet. Anyway the alien can be made in any series has pros and cons.

@3: Not every planet in the six movies had a used look ether. I feel its more realistic having some GOVs taking a higher priority taking care of there planets and cities than others.

@4: The trade dispute was just a cover to keep the Senate in the dark about what was going on, they were illegally capturing and excuting people.

@5: Someones got to speak for the Gungans, they all seem goofy to me. If they were denied the right to speak at the Republic hearings just because of a handy cap, what other rights would they / could they lose?

@6 I half way disagree. Vader and Sidious were the most powerful Sith, although with the Force anything is possible, those two were epically powerful. After the REP became the Empire Sidious changed the rules so only two Sith Lords could exist while legions of Sith and Darksiders would be used as there minions.

The reason they stayed hidden for so long was because they kept ther organization small. Using the Force, trianing a army to use the Dark side of the Force would have been detectable by any other force user in the galaxy. hense why Yoda hid out by himself on a planet real strong in the force and did little. Old Ben did even less so as to stay hiden.

Sidous was the most powerful Sith ever. He was the only Force user ever too block the force users of the galaxy / universe from seeing the future UNLESS it would help the Sith to allow it. Any other Sith Lord doing as you proposed would had been detected and seen through the Force before they were a threat to the Jedi.

Also what alot of peeps forget is that even though by this point, ep 1-3, there are only two Sith. If they both die that doesnt stop there spirits or recorded teachings from make more Sith.

@9: If its true love, its shown in the movies and show to be, age wont matter esp since its only a decades diffrence age wise.

I can't see that one standing up in court in the Indiana Jones case :)

I'll just point out the nerdy fact that Padme is only 4-5 years older than Anakin, not even close to a decade. Is that creepy? Only if she had hit on him in the first movie which she didn't. By the next movie they are both in their 20's so it's perfectly reasonable.

Yea Anakin had a crush on her starting with the first movie and continuing onwards, but not much different than having a crush on your babysitter or something.

I actually thought that Qui-Gon had a lot of potential as a character. I don't know if they did much with him in any novels, but it was clear that he butted head with the Jedi Console a number of times and had a different PoV when it came to the force then was perhaps orthodox.

I've been trying to work out why they just are not as good as the OT. I think i can put it down to a few things.

5. Jar jar binks... its bad enough hes total F***witt in the first one and annoying but like as if they would make a tool like that a senator.

Have you ever seen some of the American career politicians we have in Washington sir?

Jar Jar would be a Rhodes Scholar by comparison. At the very least the Gungan was veteran and not an effete draft dodger.

*some* fighting maybe akin to dance but there is very little breaking a chair over someones head in swan lake.

And yet some part of me thinks that version of Swan Lake I would pay good money to see.

There was a mis-cast in TPM. Either they should have cast a younger Padme or an older Anakin. Preferably an older and more mature Anakin. Natalie Portman was twice the age of Jake Lolyd. The kid was 8 and she was 16 when they started filming. I know in the storyline they were suppose to be 14/15 to 9/10. But the kid just seemed so much younger than Padme. Then fast forward to AOTC and the whole love story seems kid of strange.

Of course you have stories all the time now with teachers having relations with students, so I guess its not that crazy.

Damnit stupid autocorrect how can you not know the word pedant? once again the tablet wins.

I'm from Leeds!

You lie ... you're a Yank ... it's obvious from your use of Zeds.

If you were from leeds your name would be mass0.

But it's pronounced with a zed sound! Which is odd really, since it's derived from Sam said backwards. We don't necessarily go in for sense round here.
