Between the Cycles

By MarthWMaster, in Star Wars: The Card Game

What do people think about the Jedi affiliation receiving more support when it's already the dominant LS affiliation? I tend towards Rebel and Imperial decks, but I don't consider them all that competitive right now. I could be wrong, but does anyone else feel like it would almost be worth it to see the next Force cycle begin before Between the Shadows's release, and have it appear mid-cycle? Having saved money month to month to hit the ground running at the end of the delay, this would not affect my purchasing power one bit, but I'm sure this is not the case for everyone.

All due apologies to any Scum fans who may be reading this.

Probably best that the sets hit in whatever order they were playtested in. Wouldn't want an important "answer" that was supposed to be released first be left waiting and have the now unanswered card/combo be broken.

That may be true of Jedi, but Scum and Villainy needs Between the Shadows before

That may be true for Jedi, but Scum and Villainy needs Between the Shadows before the next cycle starts. I don't see them getting a whole lot of support in the next cycle so far. That is to say, the one set that's been spoiled looks like garbage to me. The cards in Eater of Luck, especially Dannik Jerrico, look too easy to play around.

Aside from him, we know we're getting the Boba Fett/Slave I set which should be cool, and we're getting Guri for some more Black Sun support. Guri will be meaningless without Between the Shadows out. As for Fett, I wonder what kind of deck he'll fit in. I can't imagine Scum being super synergistic with Vehicles, so I highly doubt a Scum vehicle deck will be a thing. We'll just have to wait and see, though.

To be fair, there are several decent Vehicles in the Scum sets, just not a whole lot that interacts with them rather than more important unit keywords like Bounty Hunter, Mercenary, and so forth.

That's absolutely right. We have Slave I, Punishing One, Z-95 Headhunters, Kihraxz-class Assault Fighters, Jabba's Pleasure Barge, two kinds of sandcrawlers. We have the Virago, a new Slave I, and a Black Sun Headhunter to look forward to on the horizon.

As you said, there isn't a whole lot that interacts with them, and for my part, I hope there never is. Scum and Villainy is the kind of faction that I think uses vehicles, but they should never get the kind of vehicle synergy you see with Rebels and Imperials. I do think they should use vehicles more than the Jedi, and so far it appears that's the case. I like how the current Slave I works with the capture mechanic, and while it has a little bit of synergy with other vehicles because of Tractor Beam, it stands on its own just fine. Scum should get some good vehicle sets that integrate well with character sets.
