Would this work?

By DarkFather, in X-Wing

Hi;

A local player is looking at how to give a Deci (any one) 3 actions. Would this work....

Yorr to take any Stress that is generated.
VT-49 has...
EI (so that allows for a 2nd action - Yorr takes Stress)
PtL is another obvious option
and Fleet Commander.
Ok, VT-49 moves, does TL and PtL gives a second action (Focus). At this point the Stress from PtL goes to Yorr (RB 1-2 away), VT then EI's Fleet Officer (assigning Focus token to up to 2 friendlies with RB 1-2) gains a Stress (which 'could' be passed off to Yorr if he only has the one from earlier). This gives VT 3-actions (possibly zero stress) and Yorr 1 Focus and possibly a TL or 2nd Focus (if he activated before Patrol Leader/Oicunn) and either 1 or 2 Stress Tokens.
Thoughts, or any glaring errors in my idea?
Cheers

And yes, we already know about Ptl + Isard. Do a normal action, and Isard triggers PtL (if the conditions are right to trigger Isard in the first place).

Just realised, add Ysanne as crew, and you have 4 actions for you're Deci.

Yes it all works except that you have your action types reversed. EI must trigger an action from a card and Push must trigger an action bar action. You had then switched. Push cannot trigger Fleet Officer.

So the Empire has a fighter and large single base craft with the most actions in game.

ah ok, so PtL the Focus and EI off the focus to trigger Fleet Officer.... will fix original post.

Oh, a list to make use of all that above for 100 points....

Two Men and a Lady or Oicunn Yorr Howl

Captain Oicunn + PtL + EI + Ysanne Isard + Fleet Officer.

Captain Yourr (Naked)

Howlrunner + Wingman,

Total 99 Points (Gotta fight for Initiative ;) )

Done right (with Oicunn 'De-shielded and with minimum 1 wound) you end up with Oicunn at the start of combat with a TL + Focus + Evade (dual Focus). Yorr with TL + Focus (or Dual Focus) + 2 Stress. Howlrunner with Focus + Evade. Oicun could have a Stress if Howlrunner chooses to take 1 of Yorr's Stress's off've him instead of keeping Oicunn totally clear.

The real issue here is you have spent way too many points on your action economy. I wouldn't bother with Yorr here and take more damage dealers. If you like shuttles, a Doom Shuttle (Vader OMG) is the same price as naked Yorr and has way better damage output, as does an OMG with Engine Upgrade, and that one becomes surprisingly mobile.

This was purely a study in action possibilities. It was not intended in any way to be 'top tier'. I'm at least going to try it out in a casual setting. Why not?

PtL + Isard is the obvious way to go for action economy.

a plan is great on paper, then it falls apart once it makes contact with the enemy...Especially if the enemy brings IONS!! LOL!

While it works for one turn, it doesn't work after that. Let's review.

Yorr Action

Action (Focus) - no stress

PTL - 2nd action (TL), 1 stress

EI - 3rd action (FO), 2 stress

And a 3rd stress from FO

Yorr could take two of the stresses, leaving the Decimator with just 1, which it can clear, and Yorr can clear one as well (and forgo his action the next turn. Now you've sacrificed an action from the shuttle to pass an extra to the decimator. This again works for a second turn, but come the third turn, Yorr cannot take two stresses, and you're left with a stressed Decimator. You would have to add an Wingman into this equation to make it sustainable.

So the Empire has a fighter and large single base craft with the most actions in game.
