This tie interceptor list does not have push the limit, gasp! My opponent, Vorack the Grim, discovered that by always stressing out your Tie Interceptors you end up flying with Hawks. You have no access to your K-Turns and you always need to do a green maneuver; so you are down to seven maneuvers. By being able to play without push the limit, you can unlock the full potential of the Tie Interceptor dial. This list has done extremely well in timed events, including wining a local tournament without loosing a single ship in the process.

Turn 1:

Due to lone wolf, the Tie Defender starts out on the other side of the field to the Tie Fighters. The alpha and avenger interceptors match the T/F, while Jax and the royal guard go for the T/D.

Turn 2, Movement:

Trap! The avenger interceptor peels off from his wingman and goes directly towards Rexler Brath! Now its going to be 3 Interceptors vs the lone wolf! The remaining T/I goes up against all four Tie Fighters, which I think is incredibly bold! For whatever unknown reason, Rexler barrel rolls towards the edge of the board even though he was out of arc or range to all but Jax :(

Turn 2, Shooting:

The lone alpha interceptor is only up against 4 Tie Fighters, all of which roll either 2 hits or hit and a crit, takes no damage, and one shots one of my Obsidian Tie Fighters! What a start to the game!!! On the other front, absolutely nothing happened!

Turn 3:

Because of my idiotic barrel roll towards the board edge in the previous turn, i don't feel safe K-Turning the Tie Defender and I am forced to make a course correction, trying to at least not go in front of the royal guard. With the help of lone wolf, I take no damage. On the other front, the alpha interceptor almost one shots another Tie Fighter, but this time does only 2 damage! How is it that 1 interceptor can tie up half of my list!? Because the alpha did not have push the limit and was not stressed the previous turn, it could K-Turn or go anywhere else. Had he had push the limit then it would have been very easy for my Tie Fighters to block its maneuvers or K-Turn behind it.

Turn 4: The power of Lone Wolf!

My Tie Defender is cornered!!! I have 3 Tie Interceptors firing into Rexler. The last time I wrote a battle report in a similar situation, I lost not 1 but 3 Tie Defenders in no time! With the help of lone wolf which came through for me every single shot, Rexy took no damage! On the other front, the T/F managed to score their first victory (hit) against the galactic empire!

Turn 5:

Rexler is surrounded but where due to bumping, the proximity of the board edge and my opponent starting to get a bit tired I am able to escape any damage. The T/I are circling the T/D like vultures but neither side is doing damage. On the other flank, the Tie Fighters manage to take down the lone alpha interceptor.

Turn 6:

Rexy does a hard turn and rolls towards the lvl 10 Jax in an attempt to cause a bump and not get shot (success). The T/Fs slowly start forming up on the other side.

Turn 7:

The Tie Fighters link up with the Tie Defender but even after barrel rolling they are too close and de-activate the lone wolf! The Interceptors immediately capitalize on the situation and Rexy looses all of his shields just like that! The heavy laser cannon does only 1 damage in return.

Turn 8:

I am horrified that the T/I will continue to hunt Rexler to his death so I barrow roll the Tie Defender behind the asteroid and send in the Tie Fighters to provide as much cover as possible. For the most part it works, with one academy taking two damage but the royal guard is brought down to 1 hull.

Turn 9:

I need to give some time for Rexler to escape and set up for a new attack run. Being so close to the board edge, once again, means that I need another turn to correct my direction and then execute a K-Turn back towards the fight. The key with this ship is that you want to fight at Range 3 whenever possible in order to use the advantages of the heavy laser cannon and mitigate the horrible Hard Turn 1&2 of the T/D. I smash my Tie Fighters into the Interceptors as a distraction (sorry guys) and one of them goes down in flames immediately.

Turn 10:

Now that Rexy has had enough time to K-Turn, I try to get my remaining Tie Fighters out of the fray. Unfortunately, there is a matching T/I behind each T/F. So much for my escape attempt! One T/F blows up, while the last one is damaged.

Turn 11, Movement:

At this point the game has lasted for well over an hour, so had it been a tournament game the victory would have gone to Jax and his interceptors. My opponent is getting tired, and playing with Tie Interceptors can be very unforgiving if you get tired. In this case, Jax goes to hunt down and destroy the last remaining T/F rather than linking up with the remaining Interceptors or at least barrel rolling out of the T/D HLC. I think this is why arc dodging ships have problems in competitive tournaments that go over multiple rounds, they do not have room for error and you just get tired after a while and start making mistakes...

imagejpg24_zps4fe63340.jpg

Turn 11, Shooting:

... and Jax pays for his mistake. Lone Wolf focus nails Jax (already had 1 damage from before) while his wingmen are too far away to engage.

imagejpg25_zps4e503485.jpg

Turn 12:

Rexler doesn't want to get shot down or fight 2 on 1 so he presses on the gas pedal and the front interceptor does indeed overshoot him! The royal guard does not survive the encounter (had only 1 hull left anyways). The avenger books it out of there, and its gg!

This is it for Rexler's simulator runs against friendly imperial pilots. Rexler and his Tie Fighters are deployed to counter the rise of rebel lists and mercenary outriders!
