In the manual of the Decimator is a picture with a wedge-shaped ship that isn't part of the SW Universe so long, as far as I know:

I recognized it as a Light Star Destroyer - by Fractalsponge

I was amazed.

As from the numbers and size of its Turbo Lasers, it would be right fitting ...

to face the rebel CR90 on an equal power level.

So will THIS SHIP be the Imperial Epic War Vessel by any chance?

Nothing against the ship, but there are much better already existing canon choices. This would be pandering to the "Omg, it has to be wedge shaped!" foolishness for no reason.

Since they can't really do justice to a Star Destroyer at this scale (or anywhere near it) I hope they do something else altogether. This will never look like anything other than a ludicrously off-scale ImpStar.

I'd prefere a so-far unknown wedge-shaped ship to any known wired-shaped ship ....

Size matters.

I like it. 3 dorsal turbolaser batteries capable of forward and broadside volleys, what looks like maybe 3 point defense laser batteries on each flank, plus enough of the iconic look to satisfy the customer base without making the thing either so out of scale that it's criminal or so big that it's unusable.

Of course, the terrorists have 2 epic ships, so even if FFG releases this thing it doesn't preclude them also releasing another, non-wedge, Imperial epic ship.

That's his point. its smaller, but still basically looks exactly like an ImpStar except the 3 turrets. Same hull proportions, structure look, bridge etc. It'll just look like a too small Star Destroyer with odd turrets.

Just personal taste i guess. I think it's a terrible idea, but some (maybe many) people will like it.

To compare the size:

This is an ISD. Its so big that you hardly recognize its turbo laser turrtes.

I know how big the size difference is...again, thats the point. It's just a lazy scaled-down version which isn't even canon (or anything passing for canon even....never even in the EU/Legends afaik). I mean, if they really want a wedge shape...whats wrong with the Vigil?

I would hope for a star destroyer model that can be played as either an Imperial Class Star Destroyer or a Victory Class Star Destroyer.

Change the energy dial, one or more of the section cards. Use the double sided tiles, maybe a double sided docking bay and set.

If this ship is 1200m - each turret would be about 80m and more in diameter.

Now if an ISD is 1600m and you hardly recognize the turrets - how big are they?

So this ship must be about 200m in length.

I think you're overstaing how small the ImpStar turrest are...that pic isnt very clear. Granted they aren't as big as those, but here's a clearer one:

That an Imperial-II Class. Bearing in mind it's 400m longer than the one above, the turrets aren't a massive amount different in size.

why not the vigil wedge ship from battlefront 2. near same size as corvette.

To argue that this ship isn't as canon as the Vigil doesn't make sense.

They have retconned this one so that it has appearances in Dark Empire which makes it a more legit contender imo.

And the Imperial II class is obviously way, way bigger.

If you lined those turrets back to back down the center of the OPs ship I figure you would fit a maximum of twelve-fourteen.

On the imperial II you could fit well over 30.

And FFG sure seem to have embraced it. Maybe more than the Vigil. Check out "Repair and refurbish".
