Descendants of Isha

By Papa Midnight, in Warhammer 40,000: Conquest

Is FFG going to also preview the Eldar warlord eventually? Would like to know myself.

As for the new Dark Eldar Warlord, I am interested in how he focuses on torture cards and slowly grinds your opponent's resource down thanks to his discount. The only concern of mine is the extra cost of playing non-torture cards, but his 1 cost signature event (0 while he's hale) should be good. Though I'm curious on why they gave him 2 attack instead of 1 attack.

Also noticed that they put an error regarding the release for it (they meant to say 2015).

Stay tuned for a preview of the Descendants of Isha War Pack in which we’ll preview the Eldar warlord and his unique signature squad.

Is that going to be harlequin warlord? I hope so. Because autarch warlord would just be sooo obvious.

It's going to be a Phoenix Lord warlord. They said as much on the Howl Of Blackmane announcement a while back.

Coincidentally, I just played with DE last night and got a fairly comfortable victory over Tau. Forced him to discard a bunch of cards from hand, then used Archon's palace to cancel card bonuses and then Power from Pain twice to force sacrifices on what few good units were played. Anyway, one resource for Power From Pain? Two for Visions Of Agony, which will combo with Rakarth's Experimentations, which will be free? Suffering for free, as well? Pretty good, I'll say. I don't know why you would put anything that isn't a torture on this deck. Yeah, you're missing out on Archon's Terror, but I think it will balance well. It will also make the playing and pumping of Uber Grotesque easier as you're saving on resources and have an incentive to play torture cards. I'm excited.

Aside from all that, I love that he is very different. The playstyle will be more cunning, perhaps involving less fighting as Rakarth shuts your opponent's avenues down. Even his command cards have a different make-up.

Also, a neutral inquisitor? Interesting.

I'm dying for details on Squiggify. The very concept is hysterical.

I suppose something like "Put a target army unit of printed cost 2 or less under your control as an army unit X/X"

Thanks for the heads up, Im allready liking this 2/6 8 -7 Warlord for Dark Eldar. Imho this Warlord fits the Dark Eldar theme more than Packmaster Kith. Mainly because flavour wise thew Dark Eldar where more about tortures than tokens, but considering how GW is continueing their fluff I might be totally wrong here.

I do think there has to be something very good in the mandatory pack of this Warlord in order to actually preform better allround as Packmaster Kith but I do suspect more token hate in the future bringing this lord in favour versus certain other future match ups.

All in all I can't wait to see more :D . As usual.

My best guess would be Event: Target army unit becomes 4/4, sacrifice target army unit at the end of the combat phase. It would give Orks their unique way of removal while also being an flavourwise Orkish combat card.
