Anyone having problem with their Decimator pegs?

By Zoccola, in X-Wing

I feel like I'm alone here, but I have had no problems with the pegs on either of my Decimators or my YT-2400s. I feel bad for you guys and gals, especially when I see local players having this issue and then I just grab my Decimator and place it back on the board without so much as a wiggle.

I have seen a lot of 49s and 2400s with these issues. Fortunately, neither of my 2400s or my 49 seem to be part of the problem. Good luck to those who are experiencing issues.

For those using the epic base etc. - keep in mind that the tournament rules require the use of two pegs etc. I'd suggest if you go to any major event (regionals+) that you pack a standard base and two pegs to be safe, and check with the TO.

Actually, from the tournament FAQ:

Ship bases cannot be modified to alter their size or shape. Weight may be
added to a ship base if it does not alter the shape of the base. Ship pegs
(including the connecting pegs affixed to ship models) may be modified or
replaced as desired so long as the alterations are not offensive and do not

adversely affect another player’s experience

Since the base hasn't been altered and the pegs may be altered as long as it is not offensive, it would seem that the epic pegs are allowed.

Where do the tournament rules call for using two pegs? They seem to allow even for swapping pegs out for non-FFG components.

Using the big pegs for some ships really helps when bases touch. Especially with the Decimator.

My apologies then. An earlier version specifically required small based and large based ships to be mounted on two pegs. I guess they fixed that!

Same problem with my deci and my YT2400

small piece of blu tack in the 'socket' end of each peg sorted it no problems!

I know this is an old thread, but it helped me out. I just bought a Decimator today and was surprised at how loose it was on the peg. Since I still had it, I just used a piece of the cellophane wrapping it came in, one of the parts with the crease where it was heat sealed. This provided enough thickness that it sits on their perfectly now. Thanks for pointing a newb in the right direction!
