I got my Decimator last week and the pegs wont stay in the hole. Everytime I pick up the ship, the base and stem fall off. Its really annoying. I have tried changing pegs but nothing.
Anyone have a solution?

Same here, looks like it's been happening to many folks.
It seems to be a common issue with both wave 5 ships. Their mounts are not the right size. Both my YT and my VT do it.
My YT2400s are both fine. Just my VT-49. I sent a ticket to FFG, not sure if they can do anything.
I had to put a little bit of super-glue in there, let it dry, and then scrape it out until it fit.
Both Wave 5 ships have this issue.
My VT has this issue aswell ;P
I haven't had a single issue with the decimator. I have not tried my 2400 yet
Yep, same problem on my end.
I also found it very difficult to place the cardboard templates into the plastic base ... they barely fit!
My Decimator did not even come with pegs.
its to easy to go to a bad place in this thread, so I wont,
but the super glue sounds like I good idea, I will try it.
Im not sure, since I use the big stands from the epic ships, which I find more stable, more awesome and easier to setup. Never tried putting it on the pegs, but it fits the big stand fine.
Not tried it, but maybe putting a little bit of putty/green stuff in there works as well?
*ninja'd*
Edited by sigidiYeah, the Decimator pegs seem to be a bit loose and off center.
This is a common issue with the big ships. I find that a thin piece of plastic (like the shrink wrap the ships come in) or a piece of paper towel on top of the peg makes a snug fit.
I had the same problem with mine. I thought it was just me. I tried several pegs to no avail. as soon as you start to pick it up, the base and pegs fall off. Please post if FFG fixes this. Though I'm not sure how they would if the problem is this wide spread. My 2400 is fine.
I wish we could buy more epic bases and pegs, as well as the regulars.
I've been doing this with my falcons and shuttles for months, works well. Keeps them out of the way for moving ships around them
Okay, so how do you go about doing this exactly? Is it as simple as it seems? I don't own a GR-75 or CR-90, so I'm not familiar with the super fancy peg. If I wanna throw a Decimator on one, does it all just snap together (the fancy 'huge' peg onto the 'large' ship base and the ship onto the peg) or does it require jury-rigging of some sort?
The other issue is, I'm an Imperial only player that doesn't own any Rebel ships and doesn't necessarily want a GR-75 or CR-90, 'cos really, other than the pegs, it's just useless stuff that'll sit in my closet. And who'll wanna buy a ship without the pegs?? Any clever way of getting those fancy pegs and not having to buy the ship? And don't say contact FFG and tell them my Transport didn't ship with pegs. I hate arseholes that do that.
Am I stuck buying a GR-75 I'll never use or do I hold out until they announce the Imperial huge ship?
Got back a reply from FFG
Game Title: Star Wars: X-Wing: VT-49 Decimator Expansion Pack
Component type: Plastic Figures
Details: My VT-49 Decimator does not hold onto the plastic pegs of its stand, which falls out every time I move the ship. I have tried numerous pegs from my ST-321, Firespray 31s, my YT-1300s and my YT-2400s and none holds. I cannot see a crack or break on the peg coupling on the bottom of my ship, so I dont know what the problem is, other than the hole was too loose. I do not know how I can demonstrate this to you, I could perhaps video it when I get home?

Status details: Thank you for contacting us about this and we are sorry to hear that you are experiencing this complication with your ship. With any production of this scale there will be a functionality tolerance range. In this case the ship still functions as intended but has the minor inconvenience of pulling free of the peg when lifted. With any production, especially one of this size, there will be some small variances that take place during the production run. While I understand and apologize for the inconvenience, this slight variance falls within the tolerance range as the ship will still function as intended . Fortunately there are some easy ways to take care of the issue that I can recommend. You can pick the ship up, move the base into position then replace the ship on the peg, move the ship picking it up and/or moving it by the base, use a low tack glue that will prevent the peg from slipping but does not create a permanent bond, or permanently glue the peg to the ship. I hope one of these will work for you and again apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. As always, please contact us directly if you have any further questions or concerns. Thank you.
So please let me paraphrase: "Our Chinese printers did a piss poor job at quality control, but it falls within our acceptable parameters. The game piece you bought functions as intended. Its a physical model and therefore works, despite the base being integral to the movement of a game which involves interaction between the base and templates. As your model only flops around uncontrollably, knocking other models around and ruining any precision in your measurement, we only find it an inconvenience and therefore not worth our time to fix. Use some glue and fix the brand new product you spent 40 bucks on because we cant be bothered to."
You can't really expect a better answer than that.
I'm having the same issue, but am already planning on fixing it myself.
Tolerance issues are always a problem. Sure, it's annoying, but it happens.
Both my Wave 5 ships seem to stay on their pegs ok. There was one peg that was a bit loose but I switched it over from top to bottom (using both pegs) and it worked fine then.
I sure as heck can expect a better answer than that. By saying something is within "tolerance" is the same as saying, "I am sorry that you feel bad but..."
If they were going to do nothing, the least they could do was offer a proper apology.
"We apologize that the product you purchased is not up to our usual high standards. We will look into improving our quality control processes and try to ameliorate the production process. We thank you for your continued patronage."
Am I stuck buying a GR-75 I'll never use or do I hold out until they announce the Imperial huge ship?
Yep or hold out... Unless you can find a friend that will loan you a peg.
