Jan Ors Crew Card

I have a questions about Jan's ability with her crew card. Her card reads

"Once per round, when a friendly ship at Range 1-3 performs a focus action or would be assigned a focus token, you may assign that ship an evade token instead."

Now here is might situation. I have Jan as a crew on the Falcon and Kyle flying a HWK-290. When Kyle passes a focus to the Falcon at the start of the combat phase can Jan change it into an evade even though it is being assigned to a ship she is on.

Yes, I believe so because it doesn't say "another friendly ship" you can assign the token to a ship she is on.

Q: Is a ship considered to be at Range 1 of itself?

A: Yes

So, as long as the card does not say another friendly ship you are free to pick the ship itself.


She works very nicely on Ibtisam as well I think.

I've thought of Jan with Kyle but I like having Recon Specialist and the Moldy Crow title card on the HWK-290. Love that nice like pile of focus tokens.

I totally understand. I have a hard time deciding which of rec spec or moldy crow to drop. I tend towards blaster turret and rec spec for Kyle. I don't usually bring Jan along because I'm not really trying to dish out evades.

I love Jan on B wings like Keyan (gives him a second action for Push and helps him last longer) or any time you're flying Biggs (again, I most often do aB wing for this.)
