PILOTS

Keyan Farlander (36)
B-Wing (29), Advanced Sensors (3), Opportunist (4)

Wes Janson (30)
X-Wing (29), Veteran Instincts (1)

Wedge Antilles (34)
X-Wing (29), R2 Astromech (1), Opportunist (4)

I made this list to play a hard-hitting elite rebel squad. I tried a version with Etahn A'Bath instead of Keyan, but id didn't work quite as well as I had hoped.

I'm considering a few tweaks instead of the shown list, like trading out Keyan's adv. sensors for Jan Ors crew, or an Astromech on Wes to even out the point cost.

Suggestions/oponions welcome.

Replace Keyan's opportunist with push the limit, and Wedge's with predator. Put stress rowbutt on Wes.

Opportunist looks pretty cool at first, but it requires you to shoot at what Wes shot, which can result in hilarious amounts of overkill, or you could be out of position, or any other things. You also don't want to force stress Wedge too often.

If you do force stress on say, a Whisper, you can make her life miserable. Or most ships for that matter.

I like it. Opportunist really shines with lower PS pilots so having WW shoot first to strip off the tokens is good.

I expect to see more use for Opportunist in Scum with ships like the HWK who steals tokens.

Why not Etahn instead of Wedge?

Why not Etahn instead of Wedge?

I would suppose because Eating a Boat does not take an agility die away on top of opportunist, and is more costly than Wedges...

Wedge damage potential is much better for a short lived list like that.

Anyways, in the current meta, i don't see three rebel ships doing much, but if you have fun with it, go for it.

Yeah, I know the current meta is not kind to this type of build and that the conventionel wisdom says to go with predator and PTL over Opportunist.

This is definitly meant as a casual list. I just want to see if there is some way to make the Wes/Opportunist synergy viable.

It's way better than a casual list. Keyan replaced Etahn who replaced Ibtisam in this list's various iterations. The sad thing is that all these "current meta" objectors will not help you fine tune a list like this. Remember, its the players that can define the meta. That's how it changes! If you learn to fly it well, then it can certainly stand up to many lists that are currently in the meta. My only suggestion would be to think about how you want to fly and if Advanced Sensors really works into that strategy. Those 3 points could be very useful for other upgrades (like R5-P9 on Wes).

Just tested it vs Rear admiral chirpy (EU, Issard, Jerjerrod and Intel agent), his black sq buddy w/intimidation and a couple of AP's. I got hammered.

I went with Jan Ors instead of AS, and found myself regretting my choice more than once, as Farlander desperately could have used a barrel roll to get him out of trouble.

I keep underestimating the VT-49's abiliity to move across the board and out of arcs, and I got outflown, but even so, I only managed to use opportunist a few times.

This is of course a sample size of 1, but this will definitly need some skill and practice to use right.

Get rid of your droids and give Wes Wingman so he can clear Wedges Stress so wedge doesn't have to worry about the stress the next round.

Replacing Opportunist with Push the Limit lets Keyan TL and Focus, but he doesn't need to. He spends his action on TL he gets and extra dice and then he spends his stress as a focus. I think TL + Focus < TL + Focus + Extra Die.

Keyan Farlander + Opportunist and Wes together is far from just a casual list. It might take some tweaking as to what you want to spend the rest of your points on. You might have to break down and get Biggs, but this is a gooooood list.

That would make Wes PS8, and Wedge wouldn't even get the chance to stress himself.

I've had a lot of success against various Dash builds with a variant of this list. Key to most of these has been r2d2 on wedge (at expense of opportunist)... a little extra survivability goes a long way, so whilst I keep opportunist on Keyan, Jan ors squeezes on board!

Did some revisions that ought to help me keep those pesky mobile targets in arc, and especially punish Decimators, hopefully walking them off the board entirely.

After the Bandits off-load their missiles, they get to act as blockers.
