Can you do it with R2D2

By X Wing Nut, in X-Wing Rules Questions

so your flying around in a ship with R2D2 crew

"At the end of the End phase, if you have no shields, you may recover 1 shield and roll 1 attack die. On a hit result, randomly flip 1 of your facedown Damage cards faceup and resolve it.)"

If you roll a hit and the card you flip up is Munitions Failure you have no Munitions so you flip it face down next time you roll you get a hit agian, you rember witch card is Munitions Failure can you pick that card to filp or does it have to be another card?

if its your only card then yes but what if you have 2 or 3?

is it legal and a prick move to keep picking the same card or do you have to choose another card?

How Random is Random?

same theory could apply to Thrust Control Fire and Console Fire

How Random is Random?

If you are picking a specific card because you know what it is, it is not random.

In your situation, you should probably shuffle all of the eligible cards together and (ideally let your opponent) pick one of those to eliminate your knowledge from interfering with the result.

Random means random. In practice you should probably shuffle all the face down cards on the ship and have your opponent pick one of them. Of course, if you only have one then there is no point.

Other options for random include:

- Assigning each damage card a number and rolling a d6 to pick one (or d8 on a nearly dead Falcon).

- Flip a coin if there are only 2

The rules don't specifically say how to do random, all that matters is that it is random each time.

Would it be rude to ask your opponent to shuffle the cards if that crit comes up for next time. That's if they have cards to shuffle

I'm on an iPad, which significantly slows down my typing speed.

As mentioned random is random with an equal chance of the 'known' face down card or the unknown face down card. Who knows, maybe you have two Munitions Failure cards on the ship.

Seriously?
