Darth Vader with Squad Leader paired with a heavy hitter, like a firespray or a defender with an HLC. Suddenly, Vader's double action aint so weak when it's used to TL and Focus an allie's strong attack. Because Vader does so little damage and is pretty tough, opponents tend to target whomever he's buffing instead, leaving vader alive late in the game - which is where he really shines.

Not quite a competitive list, because the points required for vader and the heavy hitter mean you can't do anything else, but really fun. I really hope the advanced gets some love in the near future. I love Vader, but get sick of losing most of the games in which I use him.

Shield upgrade? For real? Seems unconventional - but it works?

Originally it was an Engine Upgrade. That is what makes sense, right!? However, I got to play 3 training games, solo Sexy Rexy vs, Han Solo, Dash Render and Chewy. Amazingly, I never took the boost! Between focus for attack, focus for defend, focus for special ability, barrel roll, or even target lock for that occasional complete dice betrayal, boost just ended up not being used!

Since then I have switched it to a shield upgrade and i have been extremely happy with it! A single shield isn't much, but its a shield on a 3 evade, lone wolf platform so you do get a bit of extra mileage out of it. The only time boost is really better is when you are just in range 2 of Dash and the Outrider, but if you approach at an angle a barrel roll can still get you in range 1 (the ship's blind spot).

Black Squadron TIE + Predator.

Cheap. Can operate independently. Hits fairly hard.

Is Stay on Target combinable with Navigator? Both cards read "When you reveal a maneuver.." so I'd expect you could use either/or, but not both at the same time...

I almost always run Empire so at least one of the following are in almost all of my lists:

I tend to keep my ships cheap and numerous. There is a quality in quantity.

F.A.Q. has said that they are a legit combo, of coarse every move you use this combo with is red, but it is still good.

No you can use both at the same maneuver, it just means that the maneuver is red.

FAQ, latest version:

Any Defender with Heavy Laser Cannon and Homing Missiles. If Rexler or Vessery add Predator.
