My YT-2400 Build

By Hrathen, in X-Wing

Dash Rendar+Outrider+HLC+Recon Spec+EU

3x Prototype Pilot + Charadan Refit

This is what I am thinking.

During set up choose three debris fields instead of asteroids. These will hurt your opponent more in movement (stress is worse than just losing your action) but they won't hurt you at all since they don't affect shooting.

Fly Dash much the way I fly Han, play stay away. Ideally you will be in range 3 of one enemy ship. It was always a good idea to stay away from range 1 from most of the enemy squadron, but with this ship it is essential, since he can't shoot at range 1.

I usually liked to escort my Han with X-wings, because if my opponent just ignored them they would could do a tone of damage, but if my opponent focused some ships on the X-Wings Han really did awesome.

With this list I have changed the 2 X-wings for 3 A-wings. Their job is to block. Break up formations, keep Dash from being swarmed, and most importantly keep them away from range 1.

I would question the efficiency of spending 7 points on 2 actions when you can only take 1 each turn. I would drop one of them for a decent ept.

The Engine Upgrades were really sort of an after thought. But I think boost (especially boost bank) just adds to the mobility of the YT-2400 and when you need it to get a ship out of range 1 it will be awesome, even if you don't use it very often.

I don't think anyone who puts EU on a ship is expecting to use them every turn.

This... and if pressed, I'd drop the EU. The YT2400 has a pretty great dial (and barrel roll) as it is. EU for PtL, maybe?

But what is the goal for this build, to keep Dash more than range 1 away from his enemies. To that goal I think that EU is more helpful than PtL. In fact PtL has an over all effect of reducing mobility since if I use it then next turn I can only do a green maneuver.

However the possibility of shooting two dice, getting re-rolls and a focus is pretty cool.

If you want mobility and attack efficiency, swap out Recon Specialist for Predator or Lone Wolf. That way you can Boost every turn without stressing, and you still get a reroll or two, depending. If you're more interested in survivability, keep the RecSpec and drop the Engine, then maybe go for a different EPT (I could see some fun with Opportunist, but PS7 is still a little high without help for it; Lone Wolf, Vet Instincts, or Determination would add some flavor or help without too high a price tag).

Green... AND white maneuvers. Many forget this and stress isn't always something to worry about. I've played games where because my opponent expected me to relieve stress with a well known Green move and was surprised and dismayed that I didn't green move and took the advantage from them. Never be where they want you, be where you can do the most damage..

Just because I'm bonkers for Lando lately - why not drop Rec Spec and EU and replace with Lando and EI?

TL + EI for Lando gives you maybe 2 focus, maybe 2 evade, maybe one of either, or only one of one of them, or maybe even nothing! YOU NEVER KNOW WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN MAYBE YOU'LL WIN BESPIN!

I really want to find a good use for Lando, because he seems like a really fun crew to have.

1 reroll on 4 dice is not as effective as a focus token.

I admit that this might be fun, but not being able to control what I get for my action feels like a bad thing.

went against a list with Lando yesterday, and twice during the game, he rolled 2 blanks. granted the other.. what.. 6 times, he rolled many of the other combos.. from 2 evade to one of each and just one of either, but it saved his bacon a couple times.. I'll be transporting Lando in all my rebel crewed ships thank you .. lol.. but my 2400 list has a WSF and Lando as crew.. he's gotta get to that Sabbac game on Bespin somehow, right?? lol

I like the idea of Lando, especially in friendly games. Tournament play might be a different matter...

Here's an idea.

Chewie w/ Han and Lando as crew, and Experimental interface.

Take a TL action then use EI to trigger Lando, end up with either focus or evade tokens. 50 points and fairly tanky. For another 4 points, add the MF tile and PtL, but then you're looking at 2 stress per turn.

Risk makes the game more enjoyable. As HoundsTooth says, perhaps you don't want to bring it to a tourney (or doOoo you?) but Lando makes me squeal every time I roll da dice!

Also - you already get to choose your action. You're picking Target Lock or Barrel Roll, and using Experimental Interface to get up to 2 MORE actions. Lando is bonus with EI, so the risk is minimal.

Wasn't trying to say that it was! I was trying to work closer to the confines of OP's build, otherwise I'd just recommend PtL/EU/Kyle Crew like the normal SuperDash. If you're spending your only action to Boost out of arc, Predator or Lone Wolf are better than nothing. If you don't have to Boost, that's great, nab a Focus instead. Without stressing every turn you get the full dial so a maneuver might be enough to dodge behind some Zs or TIEs, if you read them right.
