So we know this is not true. I'm wondering which Scum & Villainy ship will come with the cloaking device illegal upgrade. While the rebels could have the Rogue Shadow, I think it is much more likely that the Scum & Villiany faction is the best bet to steal the cloaking technology from the empire.

Making it unique would be the best option, tie. But I don't think it would need be on a small ship. Having it on a large ship would be fine, but much like barrel roll for large ships, it would need to be modified I would think. Having it on an epic huge could be interesting as well.

Alternatively you could make it a Scum only Modification, so no Stygium Particle Accelerator or Advanced Cloaking Device shenanigans (although this makes SPA sad, since it doesn't say TIE Phantom only).

I feel the only way to make it work would be make it very expensive and either disable the EPT or have PS limits otherwise you can have a PS9+ who can always recloak first.

I'm no fan of the Phantom, much less any other ships/factions getting cloaking devices.

EDIT: To clarify, my unfandom is due to my sense of the SWU. I'm fine with the game piec, though I don't like to fly it.

You're missing my point. It's not the upgrades that go with the cloak action, it's the cloak action itself.

The Empire has little upgrades/abilities that it can call its own, now. This is contrasted to the Rebels (With Astromechs of their own and, until recently, Turret upgrades) and Scum (With Scum Astromechs and the Illicit upgrade). The Empire has no upgrade category they have exclusive control over now.

For now the cloaking mechanic is only theirs, but handing it to others means the Empire looses even that distinction. So, no. Bad idea to move it outside the Empire.

If there's any other ship in the game that should have a cloaking device, it's the Emperor's Shuttle. Sure it would make the shuttle even more interesting perhaps, but I think the shuttle is the weakest of the large ships presently.

Dont forget all those nifty Rebel only crew cards too...we finally got a few more with the deci...but we are still waaaay outnumbered in that department as well.

EVeryone's gotta have crew, that's fine. So long as Imperial upgrades can match rebel crews that's good.

But the rebels get better toys than the empire does in terms of Upgrades? Huhr.

I'm hoping Empires the only one to get Tractor Beams. The rebels won't suffer too terribly against them since they tank better, but they should suffer even a little. We already have to suffer against their turrets... and I'd rather the answer to that not be just giving empire turret upgrades.

The cloaking device they are on about is not the same as the one the phantom uses, cloaking only worked on frigates you need more power the bigger the ship is so until thrawn came along it was impossible to cloak a battleship sized vessel and because of power requirements you can't do it on anything below frigate size.

It didn't make you invisible like the phantom it just hid you from sensors.
