I think it is good to remind everyone that the PC Hutt is a young Hutt of around two centuries old and not an adult, fully grown, Hutt like Jabba.
New Lords of Nal Hutta preview, and release timeframe question
At least we will know WHY!?! the Hutts have Resilence 8! XD
Do they??
I have to check the NPC stats, I overlooked this.
Shrug. No big deal. Not all Hutts are Jabba, and Jabba is not representative of all Hutts. Hutts can move, if slowly, and do many other things. There have been Hutt Jedi in the EU. And other types. Are all Trandoshans killer Bounty Hunters? While many Hutts may be comfortable leading a sedentary life, it doesn't mean they all do.
Actually, this is my least favorite aspect of the Expanded Universe: the fact that whatever characteristic we saw in the movies, however fleeting, becomes the defining racial trait for that species. Most Trandoshans and Rodians are bounty hunters. Most Hutts are vile gangsters. Most Sullustans are good navigators. Etc...
So basically there is no point in further discussing this.
Depends on what discussing means to you, if it means convincing me, hardly (although I always keep an open mind). If, on the contrary, to you, discussing means giving your opinion, share your thoughts on the subject and reflect and reply upon what others say, then you are welcome.
Edited by YepesnopesIf you go back and look at my side in our "discussion" you will see that I gave my opinion, shared my thoughts, reflected on what others said, gave examples as illustration of points and showed you points to underline why I feel the designers are correct in attaching a brawn 3 rating to a young Hutt PC. So, I did all those things.
If you go back and look at your side in our "discussion" you make it seem as if you think that definition only applies to others.
It might be best to just scratch your head, shrug, and move on. Some people might jump at the chance to play a Hutt. I will never understand why people play beings from half of the WoD line, but my wife still jumps at the chance to play some Vampire.
I like sidestepping or turning tropes, so I definitely want to give a Hutt PC a try. A Hutt bounty hunter or marshal might be a blast.

Nothing beats a Hutt Pilot / Jedi piloting an X-wing ![]()
I'm still looking forward to when the PCs encounter (or end up on the table of) my NPC Hutt Doctor (surgeon).
"Bono ga doopoo ba wajits".
"His most excellent doctorship wishes to know if you need to keep this bit?"

I don't think Hutt's will have brawn 3. I do think they will added soak, and a cunning of 3.

WOW, this would have to be the stretch-limo version which might look really cool (rows of tinted windows)

Silhouette 2? I hope not....I so wanted to make a Hutt-starfigther ace in a z-95.... ![]()
Brawn is physical strength... Would you imagine a Hutt to be a weakling?
Of course I imagine them as weaklings. The only Hutt I am acquainted with is Jabba the Hutt. He is really fat, but I don't see him as a strong. He for sure has not the profile of an athlet or a fearsome fighter. In the movie, Leia strangles him and he cannot even defend himself... No comments.
That is why I asked if this Brawn 3 is related to something appearing in the EU, because judging what we see in the movies...
Dude.
"He's a weakling, because he gets strangled by a girl."
Seriously?
It's bad enough that there's only one female character in the OT, we don't have to talk down her badass moment too.
Why can't Leia just be strong and badass enough to strangle the mighty Jabba?

Well if neither Lords of Nul Hutta or Stay on Target have expanded/adapted cockpit upgrades to allow larger or non-humanoid species to fly fighters just talk to your gm and see if he or she is willing to houserule one.

Modified Skipray Blastboat.

Yeah, you're right. I suppose I'll settle on a Hutt Driver with a sweet sailing barge....Come sail away, come sail away....
I would be shocked if there wasn't an adapted cockpit option in Lords of Nul Hutta. The odds on Hutts having never developed starfighters in their warrior days are slim IMO so they know how to make cockpits that they can use. Adapting a fighter designed for humanoids so a Hutt can fly it might be costly but I doubt it would be impossible. And with a military focused Kajidic confrimed the odds on how to do so appearing in Lords of Nul Hutta only increase IMO.
My guess is that Hutts can squeeze into a fairly small cockpit because they don't actually have a skeleton... but they do need a ramp to access that cockpit (or a crane.)
Yeah the really tricky part wouldn't be getting them into the cockpit. The problem would be if the cockpit had rudder pedals
I think the problem we're having with a Hutt as PC is trying to give them 12 total points of starting characteristics. The truth is, Hutts should have at least 3 in everything except Agility.
I’ve been thinking about this. Most of the Hutts we’ve seen so far have been adults that are aged … what … like a hundred plus years or more? There’s the one baby Hutt that was small enough to be picked up by humans and returned to it’s Fother/Mather (Jabba), and it was like … what … fifty years old?
Who’s to say that a younger adult Hutt wouldn’t be 2 in everything? I mean, Jabba and Hiro are old enough that they could have had a whole bunch of Dedication talents that they’ve picked up over the decades and centuries, right?
I don’t have any answers, I’m just trying to avoid too many pre-conceived notions right now. I want to see what the book has in store before I make any judgements.
If memory serves for a Hutt 100 is either adolescence or at most when they are first considered an adult. The Hutts we have seen other then Jabba's baby have all been well past that I believe.
The brawn is just to reflect their large pool of health to use, when you get as fat as someone like Jabbba your gm will likely apply setbacks and modify the difficulty of any brawn related checks.
That being said a melee fighter is not actually the craziest thing I can see people making with Hutts: pick up enhance and suddenly you have flying Hutts

I am not sure I get what you mean by this "large pool of health to use"... Care to elaborate?
