And since we're on the topic are simple recaps available anywhere? Player1 with list a over player 2 with list b? I currently don't have access to vassal so I can't follow the logs that are currently available.

Check out outer rim smugglers on YouTube for good recaps.

I haven't been able to figure out when the finals is either.

But I second the ORS YouTube channel. It has the two semi-finals games, both of which are worth watching.

The final is tonight at 6pm Pacific 8pm Central time. You should be able to watch it on twitch.tv/sozinsky

Aww please record it!

My money is on sideslip, because if Whisper drops before Corran it is essentially over. I played Sideslip's list at a local tourney this last weekend and even without debris fields it just murders.

But I think if Texx can get Corran jammed up or force a turn without actions he will just melt.

Really this is just a Whisper v Corran with escorts. Both of the turrets lack the ability to confidently handle the E and the phantom.

Sideslip's list was my favorite out of all of them, so I'm rooting for that one! I just recently put together one very similar to Texx's, too, so I look forward to how that plays.

This will be an interesting match. Corran's double tap could finish off whipser but if he misses the double tap life will surely suck!

I think the weakness of Sideslip's list is a really well-played Echo, Whisper or Soontir, and especially any list with two of them.

I'm going to run it with VI Dash and engine Corran to try and deal with that.

That sort of thing is available for the Top Cut , which starts at round 6. Here's the Top 32 post which contains everyone's list and the winner of each game.

Looking fwd to this one!

That.

Was.

Ugly.

Quick recap: Kenkirk and Whisper got all up in Dash's (donut)hole while Corran was being a voyeur in the corner. Dash dies and Corran is stuck out of position for almost the entirety of the game until Whisper gets on his tail where she stays until the game ends. Dice maybe a little hotter for the Imps, but irrelevant considering the positions.

Extremely well played victory by Texx, and congrats!

Congrats Texx!

I think Lone Wolf did more harm than good. Positioning without it would have let him burn somebody down before Dash died.

Congrats Texx you definitely showed the high PS weakness of Dash when played right and deserved the win.

Well played Sideslip.

And most of all to both players thank you for an entertaining match with exceptional sportsmanship.

Looks to be one of those cards that you need to know when to use and when not to use. Better to let it turn off and stay in the fight, than go out of your way to keep it online and end up not being able to use it anyway because you have nothing to shoot at.

Thanks everyone, it was a really fun match, and the dice also helped me (more-so the crits that were pulled).

Also looks like Morgan won the prediction mini-game :P

Congratulations on a well-earned victory, Texx. It's pretty frustrating to watch the replay because there were a few critical rounds where I guessed wrong about your plan, and you totally had my number. I think the matchup favored you somewhat, but you manhandled my list. Well played, and hopefully we'll get a rematch in league play.

TastetheRainbow and ObiWonka, thanks for the votes of confidence! Sorry I didn't put on a better performance with everyone watching. My game plan was definitely to try to trade Dash for Whisper, so I was overprotective of Corran in the early game.

Do you feel like like wolf sort of baited you into that situation?

Your list is so overkill against some that I think going for ps9 dash and engine Corran might help with whisper.

Certainly my deployment was based on trying to utilize Lone Wolf in the opening shots. You'll notice that Corran was trailing at almost exactly the edge of range 3. My problem was that I counted on Dallas racing around the asteroids to reach Corran when instead he turned straight onto a debris cloud to go for Dash. It all started to fall apart there.

I am completely unwilling to drop Lone Wolf on Dash. It is decent on offense but amazing on defense. My revised build (and I made these changes weeks ago, but obviously that didn't matter for the TCO) keeps Dash as he is and changes Corran's modification and EPT for Engine Upgrade and Veteran Instincts.

You made it easy for me to win the prediction game Dallas because I backed you to take it all from the start!

Well done to both you and Sideslip, a great display of skill to reach the top table from a 160+ player tournament and I enjoyed following you guys along.

I think it's also worth highlighting how well you played Whisper to manage against all those turrets to reach the final. That was no small feat of skill.
