Yes.
Scimitars are very good for their points once they've dropped their load, though the Patrol Leader is yet untested.

This is like going with a Fat Han list, and trading some of the survivability for more obstacles/ordnance, depending on how you use the Proxes.

I have a list only used it once so far.

Did ok in the one game I used it, but it was a 2vs1game so I can't say how reliable it is. He basically ignored me, and went after my teammate and he got destroyed

The idea here is keep the bombers out front and the tie.

Hopefully the tie may soak up some dmg

Fly by, decimator gets in range 1. Stress everything, bombers drop mines, then kturn all while hopefully keeping my opponent stressed

The other idea I thought was maybe they to keep the decimator out front. Act as a bullet sponge. Then once in range 1 get out of there and allow the bombers to clean up whatever the weakest ship is, but the second scenerio think would be hard to pull off and likely lead to a deaf decimator

Bombers are tanky, in scenerio one I may lose one, but not before they hopefully do some dmg.

31 hp is still a lot of hp

I would try and add ion torpedoes on here somehow. (Maybe a firespray instead of Decimator but that probably negates your list.)

Shoot with ions, watch your enemies ships float forward 1, watch all three prox mines explore, profit.

Better yet, how about Gunner + Tactician + Tactician. Miss the first guy, stress him twice, pick a second target, stress him twice, profit.

yes but then you have to actually be pointing at the guy, which negates the main strength of the Decimator.

On another note, Rebel Captive might be just what the squad needs, anti Phantom tech. It is mich harder to hit a Phantom with a Prox Mine than other ships. Good call.

But wait, do people actually own 3 copies of the Prox mine card?

So, nothing like a Fat Han list then.

so i tried this against a Leebo-Chewie list, which wasn't a great matchup for me. two of the bombers went down very very fast (one round each) before dropping their mines, which sucked. the Decimator and remaining bomber managed to get Leebo down to 3 health, and then i dropped a mine on his head (at last) which amazingly, killed him. the Decimator was also dead by this point, so the last bomber was taken out fast.

so it was a decisive loss, BUT i played awfully. i made many mistakes, and will be trying it again.

Why not drop the captive and insert a tactical jammer to provide a shield for your bombers to hide behind?

No.. I have 7 bombers, and only 4 prox mines.. that is all..

Prox mines only ship with Firesprays and will ship with IG2000

It's a big meat-shield that I'm thinking about how to use most effectively. Make it threatening enough and a big enough nuisance to be the first target yet have the bite come from other ships somehow. It is 16 points of wall after all.

Kirk+Yaz with Predator.. then sprinkle what ever cannon fodder you want to suck up hits for the Decimater... I personally wouldn't fly a deci with out Predator and Yaz!! although i have yet to test one with Expose and IE.. that combo just sucks up so many points and gives you a stress in the process. but man a 5 dice range one turret!! and if you got a TL yow!!
