Upgrades for Oicunn

While my gut feeling's that Kenkirk's the best available VT-49 pilot, I really wanna get some ideas flowing for Oicunn, 'cos ramming stuff seems fun.

Intimidation seems interesting. If you're going to be up in the enemy's face, bumping, you might as well go a bit further and debuff him.

Daredevil + Engine Upgrade seems powerful. Bump, then bump again. Clear stress next turn with a green while also trying to bump, then bump again.

Mara Jade would be a good fit.

Dauntless + Expose?

Stay on Target/Navigator? May not be the best idea, but being able to modify your maneuvering to guarantee a bump could be useful.

Decoy? Any utility in switching PS with an Academy to pull off a more advantageous bump?

What other upgrades are you guys considering?

So far for me Mara jade is a must along with rebel captive.

Oicunn ability requires to be in range 1

Mara jade prevents your opponent from kturn and other red manuever

It can really slow your opponents ships

Rebel captive acts as a deterrent, but doesn't. Your opponent will not want to, but likely will shoot the decimator first, but giving that stress beyond range one, will help close the gap.

Ysanne and determination imo are best on Captian kirk, but could find a place on oicunn

Prox mines could be fun, but i tend to keep them on bombers

Anti pu lasers is another option.

Again pairs well with Mara jade.

Running into thing for 1 free dmg, and then have your opponent run into you for possibly another dmg all before firing eoind is ok in my books

Dauntless and predator is what I have also been thinking

Predator you can still reroll, and Dauntless let's you get an action after collision, so you can still open on fire on those close ships.

Oicunn + Mara Jade + Dauntless + APL is the way to go for me. It keeps him from being overly expensive. If you want to give him an EPT, Lone Wolf or Determination are the way to go. For ultimate phatness, add Ysanne Isard and Saboteur.

Saboteur is great. Ram and if shields are down turn a hit to crit.

I really like the Dauntless Title upgrade and I like the Ysanne Isard crew upgrade, but I don't know if I would ever take them together.

Dauntless let's you take you action if you run into someone, but at the price of a stress. Not to bad of a problem unless you also have Ysanne Isard, since he gives you free actions, free actions that you can't take while stressed. And if I am in a Decimator I think I would prefer the free evade to what ever I was going to do for my action when I crashed.

Dauntless and Mara fit naturally with Oicunn.

Intimidation is good as well, but I prefer Determination. You want to keep his pilot ability going, and you obviously want to shrug off damage wherever possible.

I also love Anti Pursuit lasers, though Tactical Jammers are fun as well.

Is this the first time Saboteur has been a serious choice? :o

At bare minimum, Oicunn should have Mara Jade and APL. With points to spare, add in Dauntless, Saboteur, and Determination.

Yeah, I've been advocating Saboteur for a while. You get a 50/50 shot to flip a hit to a crit if their shields are down, not to mention you deal an auto damage with Oicunn.

Moff Jerjerrod is a great option. Crits like Damaged Engine or Weapon's Malfunction hurt way worse on your main squad investment.

My favorite Oicunn build right now is:

Predator

Mara Jade

Rebel Captive

Anti Pursuit Lasers

Moff Jerjerrod

That seems to give Oicunn a strong annoyance factor and doesn't rely too much on actions or stress. It is a whole lot of fun.

I will add, any upgrade choices are dictated by your support choices. For example, if I didnt have a highly capable end game ship, I might not run without Engine or Gunner or something that can give an Edge vs those tough to pon down squads.
