Corran with marks, ei, and fcs?

By Koshinn, in X-Wing

Any one play Corran with

Marksmanship (super focus for both your attacks)

Fire Control System (tl for second attack)

Experimental Interface (br for position or tl for the first attack, then use EI to use marksmanship)

R2-D2 because why not, you'll be doing greens anyway

Basically when you double tap, both get focus and a target lock. Almost guaranteed 6 damage on a decimator... 8 if you get range 1! Plus a good chance for at least one crit, probably two though.

Marksmanship only makes one crit per round, but all eyeballs do become hits for the entire round, so it's something to think about saving for the double tap.

If you ditch R2, he's 1 point from fitting in the same list as superdash. So I guess you'd have to drop Kyle from Dash and add in Merc Copilot to help with the dash mirror match.

Something like this:

Corran Horn — E-Wing 35

Marksmanship 3

Fire-Control System 2

Experimental Interface 3

Dash Rendar — YT-2400 36

Push the Limit 3

Heavy Laser Cannon 7

Mercenary Copilot 2

Engine Upgrade 4

Outrider 5

All I would do is change R2 with an R5P9

and give him advanced protons

Then pump out an Etahn with
R2 D2

PTL

Fletcheta

Fire Control System

and an Engine Upgrade

then hello dolly

But Corran is basically never focusing.

I would still focus for defence

You would still focus for defense often. I wouldn't run this version of Corran with Dash. It's not as survivable as ptl and you really need that. I would run this build with Biggs and another 3-dice ship.

I like the idea of Marksmanship/EI, it makes a double attack round by Corran potentially devestating. It´s slightly less survivable than a 47 point Corran with PTL because he can buy a hull upgrade instead of Experimental interface (that extra hull can make all the difference). PTL-Corran can obviously also turtle better with Focus-Evade.

I like the idea of Mark/Ei Corran with a defensive Chewie (Predator/R2D2/C3PO/MF), because as long as you make sure you kill decently with Corran before he dies, Chewie gets really tough to kill in the end with this setup.

I've played this build. On double tap turns, it excels but it is inferior to PtL on other turns. You rarely get to barrel roll because you won't have evade or focus for defense.

I'll try it again before I abandon it. It seems to fit so well with Marksmanship.

Evading is more likely.

Unfortunately, with that build you can't focus+evade turtle, which is pretty important with a loaded Corran. It does pack a punch though, so it's a matter of killing them quicker instead of trying to outlast.

On second thought:

I play Corran a lot and I'm having trouble finding any matchup where Corran needs this build. I think ptl Corran already rocks those match ups so hard that it's hard to justify the loss in survivability.
