I would've been surprised because he doesn't exactly fit the profile that Kathleen Kennedy said they were looking for in the new Star Wars directors.

I can imagine the imperial propaganda.. it would be glorious.

StealthX would be a black X-wing with lighter weaponary, less armour and an inability to communicate with other X-wings.

Its got more stealth features than that. One of those features would actully protect it better agianst any photon type weapons.

I could see these getting a special Stealth X-Wing exclusive ability on its action bar. When active adds a plus 2 to defence agianst primary weapons and missile / torp weapons roll 1 less attack die BUT all manuvers above 2 count as red.

Unlike the TIE Phantom you dont need to deactivate it to fire.

It wouldn't be too bad I think, just read an old interview where they asked about Star Wars.

First they asked him what he though of the digital reworkings by Lucas and Spielberg. That held no interest for him, he compared it to Rembrandt updating his paintings with contemporary clothing, just make a new movie was his opinion.

He was sad to see what happened with the new trilogy and he still likes watching ANH and ESB. He was in the running for a bit to direct RotJ but the offer was withdrawn after they saw an explicit drama directed by him.

That would of been great, alot of people just see the violence in his films and completely miss the subtext he includes.

Well as a long-time Trekkie, I have to say I HATE what JJ did with Trek. Sure it may have been a good action blow crap up movie, but it WASN'T Star Trek. ST isn't about blowing crap up with a shallow plotline. I can understand how society today would enjoy this movie, but it just isn't ST feeling.

They should have made more movies with the Enterprise - A and the Gorn. They proved in tron legacy they can use good effects to youngling up ordler actors so its not like it would cause canon issues having the actors come back. Bones and Scotty not coming back can be hand waved since in Ep 6 they were excited about retiring from SF.

There's more emotion in the first 10 mins of JJ's first Trek movie than there is in all of the original Star Trek movies combined with the exclusion of "Wrath of Khan". Honestly "Wrath of Khan" is the only truly good movie of the bunch, the rest we liked just because they were Star Trek in spite of what we were actually viewing. VI made good use of the universe, a rarity for a Trek movie, but it felt like the actors were phoning it in, and the traitor was totally predictable.

That and I feel that a lot the issue people have with the new Trek films are more Orci/Kurtzman's faults than Abrams. JJ did say that he is more of a Wars fan, so he relied on those two on the script. I don't think it's a coincidence that a lot of the issues with Trek seems to echo the issues people have with other movies those two are involved in.

Except they WEREN'T a reboot. They stuck with a stupid alternate timeline thing so the entire continuity before the first time traveler arrives should still be valid. All of the settings history prior to kirk's birth (which includes enterprise), plus the assorted laws of physics the various shows established, should all be binding in the new timeline, but they aren't.

A reboot would of had nothing to do with anything else star trek, the JJ abortions are directly linked by having Leonard Nimoy in them as the same spok from ToS TNG and the movies, whats more it directly references enterprise and admiral archer another main time line show.

And because of all that the changes make zero sense.

Really? They teleport from earth to the Klingon homeworlds in the second film, they hide a star ship with a hull designed to withstand 0-1 atmosphere under water, the **** shuttles have air intakes on an impulse engine.

They are so obviously bad star trek movies it never occurred to me, they may not be bad brainless summer blockbusters but they are a travesty when it comes to science fiction.

Half the trek movies are bad I freely admit that point, the motion picture is a snooze fest, shatner should never of been allowed to direct the final frontier etc, but at least they were consistent with the universe.

Don't forget a supernova that was going to destroy the galaxy, resurrection by blood transfusion or stopping the geological forces creating a volcano with a freeze bomb briefcase.

Not to mention promoting a cadet who was about to be court martialed past ensign, lieutenant, Lt. Commander and commander straight to captain and putting him in command of the most important ship of the fleet (after making the idiotic decision that the enterprise was somehow a special snowflake of a ship and not just one of the fleet's dozen heavy cruisers).

I didn't say Terminator, I chose Tron Legacy because how well they made the lead actor and the actor who plays as Tron look younger. They also did great in the Hobbit series making some of the character look younger than they are in the three LOTR movies.

I have to have to disagree. In the third one you can see the pain Kirk goes through having his best friend being dead. You can also see how disapointed Kirk is to not have his ship repaired and it only gets worse from there, except the epic scene were he goes rogue from SF. Hearing his son die was also a a emotional moment.

But the most emotional moment in ep 3 is is Kirk and crew having to watch the ship they called home for more than five years explode and turn into a fireball. The life is sucked out of them.

And how can one forget the rage filled moment Kirk has after having enough of captain crunches bs?

Now there's not as many of these scenes in ep 4 but the crew getting there last mesage frm earth beforeits destruction is also a powerful scene, like the scene with them seeingthe classic blow up, they look and sound as though someone doorbreach kicked them in the guts, stole there iphone, then had the person beark it in front of them as the complain they don't take cheap junk from people. Yet they are strong enough to try and find some way to save the earth.

Then there's the joys moment of them having most charges droped. By far the best one is when they find out he ship they are geting is A Enterprise, they have found a new home.

Ep5... bones having to se his father die hours before they found a cure is a very emotional scene as is Spocks vision seeing his. Dad say for the first time seing him "he's so human."

Ep 6 also had a lot of emotion, must of it good unlike the 2nd 3rd and 5th, except the part with them being told that the Alpha was being retired. Now the reason ep 6 is the best is because of the finale confrontation with Popeye. They dynamic of the way the scenes dialog, and music make this finale battle the most energy charge, and that's saying a lot from me because I hate shake spear, and I really hate klingons that quote shake spear.

I think there is way more authintic power , energy and emotion in these scenes than in the alt jaja verse. And even though the being of the first movie may be "emotional" the problem with the scene is next to no one will care about those characters you see die because your just introduced to them in the first few min of the movie.

On the other hand the enterprise is basically a character itself that fans would be atached to for years, and seeing it turn into a fireball is very painfull in a god way, and blows away the scene of the first alttrek with kirks dad dieing "Thor."

I heard Shatner will be in this 3rd JJTrek movie as Kirk from the primary timeline. If thats true then

C) Mirrior Universe Grand Admiral Kirk crossed over and back in time and wants blood.

Just thought I should add that ep 7 did have a powerful emotional moment, Kirks death. What makes the scene more sad than it appears is because of Kirks proclamation in ep 5. He said even in times of danger hes not worried because his friends were with him. HE KNOWS when he dies he will be alone.

Thats exactly how he died with a stranger by his side, in a time he was not ment to be part of, on some backwater **** hole barren planet traped under destroyed metal structure.

Emotion wise the scene with Kirk dying blows away any emotinal scene made in JAJATrek They just dont seem investable enough to have any sympathy for. Heck the main enemy leader of Galaxy Quest feels like a better enemy than Nero from the first JAJATrek. Khan was an improvement but not enough to make up for crazy / un-entertaning plot story development.
