No linked Brawls. At least not for Xextos. Xextos get a bonus free maneuver each turn, but it can't exceed the normal two maneuver limit.
Stay on Target details!
Wow that's pretty potent. Thanks for the info!
I was actually a little disappointed in the Xexto... I know the free maneuver is great, but it takes a nerf to two characteristics and only gains on one. Plus it only has 85 xp to go off of. Is a free maneuver really worth that much?
Considering that all my players always take two manoeuvres every round of every combat, I'd say it's definitely worth it. You're saving a whole lot of strain that way.

You can get the Characteristic point up with Dedication, but there's no way currently available for other characters to get a second free Maneuver each and every turn. The Xexto ability is very worthwhile.
Yep. 2 free maneuvers is sick. My friend always double aims. So it will be an ordeal should he decide to roll a Xexto for our Rogue Squadron game I am going to start soon.
It's funny because the hit to Willpower and the low base Strain Threshold means they don't really gain much of an advantage over other races for their "ideal Spec", the Hot Shot. It's still a bit of a boost (only taking Strain hits from High-G Training when taking a second Pilot only Maneuver), but they start in the hole already for Strain Threshold.
But in ground combat; yeah, that Second Maneuver is basically double-speed or double aim, or aim-and-move all day long.
Actually, I could see the Xexto still being really potent in vehicle/starship combat, since they can easily take that second maneuver for an Aim action on their Gunnery check while still having the free maneuver everyone gets to do piloting stuff, such as Evasive Maneuvers or moving into shooting range.
Picked mine up on the way home today - just enough time on the bus to skim the book. Looks pretty badass, and I love the Rigger. . .
. . . and his custom signature vehicle. . . .
. . . . who gets charm and negotiation upgrades when next to it!
Come on - tell me that doesn't work!
Edited by DesslokWhoops!
Edited by Desslokso any new combat rules?
I love the Hotshot talent which allows you suffer some strain to get a Triumph on success OR a Despair on failure.
Some players would probably balk at the idea of deliberately adding a Despair but it fits so well with the idea of the Hotshot, taking extreme chances and doing crazy things!
That is so awesome! I'm probably gonna get mine tomorrow!
The rules for beasts are almost new. They're a rewrite of the vehicle rules, but they integrate better with personal scale. Even Silhouette 4 beasts can be hurt with high-end personal weapons, something that just doesn't happen with an AT-PT.
I do want to mention that I think the Beast Rider specialization is weak. Nothing in the talents that standout, and the career skills don't catch my eye either.

While I haven't got the book yet, I would assume you commit to using this Talent before you roll the dice, adding Triumphs on a success and Despair if you fail.
Rather than rolling a failure and then deliberately choosing to spend strain to add a Despair.
Hotshots seem to be high-risk/high-reward, rather than 'how can I deliberately make things worse for myself?'

Desslok, can you confirm for me - is it only the Rigger who gets these bonuses or anyone?
In other words, is it only BA Baracus who benefits or the whole A-Team?

Only BA Baracus.
Thanks Doc. I only have your download to go on - I can't see the Talents in full until my book comes in!
So far I like the talents and powers and specs. I was wondering how they would make the new specs distinctive, but they all look great, and very characterful.
The Rigger is ridiculous. In a ridiculously good way. Pretty sure the Ace Pilot/Gunner will be taking it tonight when we play in an hour.

The way the Showboat talent works is, before you roll, spend 2 strain. If the roll is a success, you get a Triumph. If it's a failure, you get a Despair. However you do not get the success or failure that come with Triumphs and Despairs.

I'm planning the same with my Ace pilot. However I'm waiting to recover his stolen HWK-290 before actually taking the Rigger specialization in a suitably cinematic moment.

Pretty sure there's a number of Smuggler/Pilots or Explorer/Fringers that would be interested in adding Rigger to their character to really pimp out their ride.
Don't forget Mechanics Outlaw Techs!
Yeah if I ever try to treate an FFG character along the same lines as the current form of my favorite Saga character I'll definitely be getting Rigger which brings him up to 6 specs minimum,
Question about the High-G Training talent.
Is this like the Resolve talent (works against involuntary strain), or could it be used to exchange strain from taking a 2nd Maneuver or performing the Punch It action?
