So I just got my contributor copy today. If anyone has Chapter 1 questions or concerns, I'm more than happy to discuss.

Not so much questions - just a general "Well done!"

I like the chapter, the material was sufficiently inspiring that I decided to make an Ace for my new character - and the new specs complement rather than overpower the core ones. Now I just need the xp to make my Pilot/Gunner/Rigger/Hotshot :D

Thanks for doing a great job!

And I have to say (as I did on Twitter) that the astromech and dogfighting terrain rules were awesome - good job Agatheron! As both a GM and a player, I am always looking for things to streamline the game while adding flavor - and I think you managed both. Thanks!

Thanks, I appreciate it. I'm new to the FFG writer's pool. While I wrote stuff for Iron Crown Enterprises 20 odd years ago, I'm still shaking the rust off of my own writing. Glad to hear the positive feedback. We are as much players of the game as we are writers of it. :) My copy should be here sometime in the coming week, so I'll have a better idea of how much tweaking came out of playtesting, which was a very important piece in the development of it.

i could not be more happy with this book!

i let out and audible "yes!" when i saw the inclusion of the dewback...

If your player wants his humanoid Astromech droid's socket to look like a bathroom stall with a glory hole for a scomp link, that's not going to change the mechanics of how it works.

Would that come under Personnel or Recruiting Duty?

What does the Reinforced Frame mean?? Please elaborate!

"

The Signature Vehicle
gains Massive 1 (attacks
targeting the Signature
Vehicle count their Critical
Rating of the weapon used
as 1 higher)."

It means just what it says: anyone firing on that ship requires one extra Advantage to activate a Crit (i.e., the Crit rating of the weapon is one higher). Basically, it's harder to crit the ship.

Actu ally, I find the concept of what the droid's … connection interface (scomp link) would look like even more - fo r lack of a better word - ewwwwwwwwww! C3PO should not have … that!

Check out the “Essential Guide to Droids” and their diagram of the LE-series repair droid.

It’s not far off from the groinal socket that Kryten has in Red Dwarf.

Just going to leave this right here ...

Edit: That might require some explaining .

What has been seen cannot be unseen... o.O

Since the Dragoon Cavalry Blaster can swap between using Ranged Light or Heavy, what attachments can it take?

Personally, I'd limit it to things that can be applied to pistols, and veto anything that specifies carbines and various types of rifles. It's already a pretty beefy weapon as is, so no need to give it access to the attachments that carbines and rifles have access to.

Slave Circuit question...

When it says that it will activate & bring the ship to owners locale based on pilot's mod, is that his Pilot space/planet skill??

Also do you need BOTH the Bespin DVI activator to use it? Or can you just get the DVI Activator to switch on the ship or do you need that and this SC??

As far as I can decipher you need...

To remotely turn on the vehicle:

The DVI beck and call

OR

The Slave circuit (assuming a basic key-fob bnc is included)

To allow the vehicle to auto-fly/drive to you:

Modded Slave Circuit (with an ability/skill of 1G, so no difficult terrain)

To allow you to remotely start and pilot the vehicle you need:

Modded Slave Circuit AND the DVI, with the difficulty starting at Daunting. But this allows you to otherwise pilot the craft as if you were actually there, so you could do something really cute like have a slaved fighter group piloted by 4 guys in a nearby escort transport like you see in some of the books and games...

So like the drones the army uses?

;)

Heh, I was actually thinking x-wing alliance.

Katana fleet time!

Quick question about the Owner's Manual...It says a 1 time upgrade to Mechanics...Does that mean that after 1 use you can NEVER use the upgrade again?? Or is it 1 Die upgrade all the time?

It's actually a difficulty DOWNgrade. And it can be used all the time, it's just that the owner manual can only downgrade once per check. Preventing abuse from stockpiling manuals to keep downgrading or for players to keep re-reading the same manual to get multiple downgrades and what-not.

FINALLY got my copy from my FLGS. WHich is good since I am going to be doing a session 0 for a AoR campaign at the same FLGS.

Kind of nice that in the last year, I have gone to no game store (owner died of heart attack) to a "meh" game store that was too small, and now to a store that JUST recently expanded into the next storefront, and doubled in size.

So for example, if a PC was making a chk & had the manual then they get the downgrade...Then say for a different repair they have the manual and get the downgrade again?

Yes, as long as they have the manual and the manual matches the ship it's being used for (or is being used on a closely equivalent ship from the same manufacturer if the GM allows it).

Does anyone know the ship on the cover of the book?

PTB-625 Heavy Bomber Airspeeder
