Chaining Executive Orders and Special Abilities

By ScoopSnookems, in Battlestar Galactica

So the Executive Order card allows you to use your Action to give another player a Move and Action, or 2 Actions. If that player, chooses to use an Executive Order to grant someone the same, is that legal? Can this be chained indefinitely?

Also, how would you read this scenario: To resolve a skill check, players can use Yellow, Green and Purple. Another player throws down the Blue Engineering cards that make all Blues positive, and another player uses the Yellow Politics card to make everyone reveal their cards as they're played. One other player is using the Chief Tyrol, and his special ability is to negate a color AFTER playing cards but before they're revealed. Can this ability be played during this instance?

Thanks y'all, love this game!

No. I made the mistake myself, but it is explicitly stated in the FAQ. The card should have added "Restricted to only one Executive Order per turn".

I'd say the ability can no longer be played because the cards have already been revealed.

No you can't chain executive orders.

Regarding the chiefs power: it's my understanding that you can use Chiefs power after everyone plays their cards when an investigative committee, because the "reveal" phase remains the same, you just happen to play the cards face up instead of face down.

For once, I am unsure about how to answer this. Melonball has a point - if Tyrol's ability's trigger is the reveal phase, he would be right. If the ability is triggered by the act of revealing cards, my version would hold truth.

Maybe Corey could help us?

My two cents:

That's exactly how I would read the rules. In my point of view, if this situation occurs, the Chief is headed for the brig. But if he actually is a toaster, who wants to come out, well...

I'm unsure how Tyrol's ability interacts with Investigative Committee. Input from Corey would be welcome.
