My daughter played briefly with the Outrider on Friday. I couldn't breathe hahaha. She's four though and did no harm.

She asked me politely to teach her the game. Good sign! For now, I have her roll the dice. Sure the games take longer, but including children in a legitimate way helps their development.

My 4 year old loves Star Wars, and specifically Xwing(Or Pewers as he calls them) He has probably broken about 5 ships. I have found the Canons on the wings of the BWing to be the most fragile piece.

I went online and bought him a bunch of old ships, I think they were from Wizards of the coast.

I can't wait until he can grasp the game. Right now we just move ships, and when they are close we roll (Pewer)Dice.

My wife shakes her head and rolls her Eyes as we have Rebels or one of the original trilogy movies going on behind us.

Im not sure but Revell's Star Wars easy kits might be good for this purpose.

Any children that puts toys in there mouth should never have anything in there hands from this game or anything with small pieces. They could choke to death

If my little daughter gets her hands on my ships she will destroy them. She has her own toys so there's no reason for her to play with daddy's toys....at least not until she's older:)

my 18 month old has never seen my ships. I did get him a tie fighter stuffed animal which he didnt seem to care about, not sure where it is now.

lol don't miss those days but your getting off cheap if all they break is a couple of ties.. Just wait tell they start driving, wanting smart phones AND attending college...That is when kids get expensive!!!! although i cant complain as i got off light as mine got a full ride to her college which allowed me to indulge in this obsessive collection. however i already miss mine and she just went back college this morning after her thanksgiving break...They grow up really fast so take time to goof off with them!! seriously even when they are 18...

I had a peg nub break off in an X-Wing and I wasn't able to extract it. Bought a replacement and give the broken one to my daughter to hold with whenever she watches me play.

Going to play at a friend's house next weekend (he has 3 sons). My heart is torn between sharing my passion with the next generation of geeks and fearing that they are nothing short of space Rancors that my ships need to avoid at all cost! Let's just make sure that the table is very high...

My son has a plush TIE Fighter.

Actually I give my 2 year old my D&D attack wing dragons. They are a very soft plastic that he can't really hurt unless he uses his mouth.

This. I got as many of these as I could for my 2 year olds a couple years ago when I first started playing and they wanted to play with the ships. A friend of mine got them the Falcon for X-mas that year. I went on eBay to get the X-Wing/TIE Advanced combo pack too.

My kids are almost 5 now and still play with them. They are sturdy and don't break easily. Any spindly parts are either soft flexible plastic or have "break points" where it will come apart under stress but can be put back together easily.

My only beef is the severe lack of female characters in the line. Even Leia seems to be absent for some reason. My daughter usually play with Chewbacca or the droids as a result.

Have you looked at the Star Wars Command line that Hasbro just came out with? The ships might be a little small for a toddler, but are very indestructible. The Falcon is actually almost the perfect scale for X-Wing and if you are a nutter like me, you can even convert the Star Destroyer into a Vigil Corvette for Epic play!

I have a toddler as well who loves Star Wars. The plush vehicles from Think Geek aren't the right scale but he loves them. In fact, the plush X-Wing was his first toy in the hospital when he was born.

As far as other Star Wars toys, the Hasbro "Jedi Force" line is ok. Some have small parts (like Chewie's bowcaster), but I just stored those away. Oddly enough, his favorite character is... Dengar?
