Beginner : What I need to buy?

By XTREM1337, in Android: Netrunner The Card Game

I had some store credit at coolstuff burning a hole in my pocket. I just started playing the new DBZ card game, and some of the guys play Android. I heard it was really good, so I took the plunge without even playing a game. I got 2 core sets, one of the deluxe packs, and 4 of the data packs. Can't wait for it all to get here next week so I can dig in! Hoping to also play a game or two this weekend to see if I even like it. Hahahahaha.

Maybe not the wisest choice, but I've really heard nothing but great things about it. I thought about trying to figure out what I should buy right away, but I know that I will end up getting all the expansions anyway.

It might seem a bit reckless but some games, they just feel "right", you know?

I had the same thing with quarriors. It was around 40 or 50 bucks and my mind said "I should just leave it for now and go look up some reviews first" but my heart said "no. it's ok, this is good. Buy it now." And I did and it's a great game.

Yep same thing just happened to me with DBZ. I'm really enjoying it. I'm really enjoying card games right now, as opposed to minis which I usually play. So much more portable. Quarriors is a lot of fun. I play Dice Masters too and it's been awesome.

I play dice masters to. Waiting for the yugioh version. Hope you didn't have to wait to long to get a hold of Avengers vs x-men. I have heard tell that it (was) very hard to get hold of.

I got lucky and was able to get it right away. We also had one of the Wizkids Opens at our shop (Wilmington, NC) and that was when you could get Uncanny X-men early. I helped run some of the events, and was rewarded with a set of the Uncanny SRs, I made it top 16 so I got a bunch of packs and what not, and then I also got a CTD and the promo Tsarina, and the CTD had Iron Man in it. One of the drafts I did I also got SR Scarlet Witch. I made out like a bandit.

Dice Masters never took off around here because of the AVX shortage - but after the Wizkids Open event we had a bunch of people get into it. We have a regular weekly tourney group now.

On release our local store had just enough AvsX to fill out the orders me and my friend placed. (and one starter left) but it's up to full stock now. I got SR Green Goblin, Iron Man and White queen.

Do deluxe packs come with 3x cards?

Do deluxe packs come with 3x cards?

Yes.

Awesome.

What deck protectors do ya'll recommend? For DBZ I use the Hyper Matte sleeves. I really like them. There is a decent amount of shuffling in DBZ though, so I wanted to get the best that would hold up longest.

Is there a good amount of shuffling? I saw the FF ones that are coming out, but I've heard bad reviews about FF card sleeves.

If I can just stick with Hyper Matte I will, but wouldn't mind spending less if it's feasible.

You're good with Hyper matte. I personally use Legion Double Matte by preference.

Played my first game tonight. Was at the shop for a prep Heroclix tourney for a big event at the end of the month.

Got to get in a game of Netrunner before with a guy at the shop who loves the game.

It was awesome. He already had 2 decks built so I used runner. It was a lot of fun, and it was so helpful having someone teach me.

I'm hooked.

Do deluxe packs come with 3x cards?

All expansion packs come with the cards printed in triplicate (to include identities and cards limited to 1 per deck).

Only the core set is the set that has cards in different quantities (such as doubles or single cards).

That and drafts packs also, but I'm told you only want to play them in drafts.
