Official Trailer for Ep. 7 The Force Awakens

By Lancer999, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Ummm Tie Fighters (or Any Fighters for that matter) do NOT come in "Fleets"

They come in Squadrons!

Given their track record, it sure as heck isn't a Murder of Tie Fighters.

Where is the Hate coming from w/ the Claymore / Lightsaber?! I mean I thought it looked cool! I can understand why people are saying the 2 exhaust ports on the side "Guards" It could stand to reason that the Saber was "Unstable" and they needed ports to vent excess heat. But why HATE on it??

ALSO...WHOO HOOOO 100 REPLIES!!

To you naysayers out there, about the new lightsaber:

Hahahhaa. I can't believe everyone (that I have seen) looked over the fact that the beam could be inside the hilt like that. Maybe it can't work like that, but it made for a pretty funny clip.

On a similar note, it could be the emitter itself is a three-way split, but with the emitters themselves recessed within the handle. Anakin and Vader's lightsabers both had this to a degree.

So that it's not "one continuous blade" but the same basic theory that Colbert describes would apply, with an enemy's saber that cut down still hitting one of the smaller blades and being stopped before hitting the wielder's hand.

A local newspaper refered to the new 'saber as being "T-shaped."

Sigh.

Well, this was in the ballpark at least:

Then, the crystal(s) split the lightsaber plasma blade as it comes out of the pommel into one central killing blade and two short side guards. There is thus no metal to be cut, only the plasma/laser blade can be struck. Makes more sense this way.

Now we need a lightsaber version of this!

Me? I prefer this:

The lightsaber chainsaw!

I can't be the only one who felt ho-hum about the trailer can I? Saber silliness aside I just felt like it lacked charm, felt like a super high budget fan film as opposed to a AAA release. I couldn't quite tell if it's a different frame rate than the previous 6 movies but it just didn't feel right, I'm still going to see it but I feel like I'm doing so out of duty rather than enjoyment

Yes....you are the only one.....

I appreciate that Abrams is giving shots room to "breathe" rather than packing them with stuff constantly moving around in the background.

We're a year out from release date. I wouldn't be surprised if most of these scenes are heavily tweaked in post-production.

While I have to admit that I do not feel the thrill I was expecting, I#ll hold my judgement until I've seen the product. JJ knows what he's doing, so I trust him on this one. After all, we've only seen 0.5% maybe (probably less) of the movie. That is hardly the basis of a decision in one direction or the other.

This is a teaser, not a proper trailer. It teased some things. You aren't going to find charm in a teaser.

This Reminds Me Of The Prequels. There Were Lightsabers Everywhere! Like Even To Just Down Down An Elevator Required Them Pulling Them Out. Twice Even! And Did Anyone Else Burst Out Laughing At The 6 Year Old Lightsabers Scene? Remember During The Original Trilogy, When They Were All Mystical And Cool And Stuff.Does Anyone ElsMiss Those Days. Im Surprised Jar Jar Didn't Get one

Interesting tidbit on George in regards to the new movie.
