REAL FORCE AWEAKENS TRAILER... YEAH!

By Joe Boss Red Seven, in X-Wing

The teaser trailer is coming here? We shall double our efforts!

Cross guard looks fine. Practical too. More like Scottish claymore or European longsword. Jokes with friends this morning point out it makes him look like a holy warrior. Nickname Jesus Sith established

Oh ****, imagine if one of the Sith really could raise the dead (and I don't mean in the mmo :P)

Eat your heart out, prequel Anakin

Traditional cross guards on a sword 'catch' a blade, or at least deflect the blow from a user's hand (such as in the case of a basket-hilt rapier or somesuch). Neither seems likely in the case of a weightless beam of light.

Unless you are to assume that a lightsaber is plasma encased in a magnetic containment field, which is dramatically more logical in almost every way when you think about it scientifically. If only the writers had done their homework in physics class...

Let's just all remember that in-universe practicality takes a back seat to our-universe cool factor.

For that, I think the crossguard, the black cloak and the snowy forest terrain do give us a medieval crusader feel to it.

I like it.

I also like everything else about it.

...well, I still have to be won on the rolling droid, but I'll give it more of a chance.

Between work and at home I have watched it about 6 times, and every time that theme music kicks in with the Falcon doing a barrel roll my skin goes all goose bumpy. :D

7 and 8, yup, still goose bumpy....

Mark Hamill has been quoted a couple of times saying that in filming prep and during shooting they were told repeatedly to hold the Lightsaber in both hands to imply weight. And with all the times they get caught in blade to blade clinches, one trying to overpower the other, that guard could be crucial. Would not want to be in one of those standoffs and have my enemy slide down my blade and sever a hand :( But who knows, someone already pointed out and I agree the guard appears more like vents of ragged plasma. Maybe they aren't even cohesive blades?

And rolly droid looks cute. I kind of want one. :P

I loved it!

Ok, the silly ball droid bought back flashbacks to Jar Jar (for some reason), but the Falcon! X wings! Awesome.

And that crossguard lightsaber was amazing. Daft to be sure, but then lightsabers are pretty daft to start with.

Dare we hope for good things?

Looks really good.

My guess is that the snowy forest is Endor. Jesus Sith is going to Vader's pyre to pick up the helmet.

Bonus points if Benedict Cumberbatch voices the Sith as well as the trailer.

This might, just might, be the start of something that will make me forget about the previous three films. I approve.

Pronounced Jesus or the Spanish hay-Zeus?

Man, that creep can roll.

That is exactly what I am thinking.

Held out and saw the teaser on the big screen! Braved a mall on black Friday but it was worth it!

Sweet trailer a couple times. Need to rewatch it a few more just for the Falcon shots.

DAT FALCON!

:o:blink::wub:^_^:D

Crusader feel, good call. I like where this is headed.

Since when was cumberbatch involved?

Since when was cumberbatch involved?

Max Von was talking... I think.

yes, Max von Sydow. I believe He will set the tone of the entire film, much in the way Sir Alec Guinness did for Star Wars back in '77. Max brings a certain gravitas to the screen few actors can, even Ford, with his acting ability, cannot carry this new series to the level it needs to be. Max, for good or evil, will be a constant through out, maybe a Jedi spirit brought forth via holocron or ancient Sith lord haunting the heroes until they break.

...how crazy would it be that this is the voice of Darth Plagueis, maybe he is pretending to be an ally to the heroes only to break them mentally and emotionally.

Whaaaaaaaa. I can't wait for my future child to ask me "Dad, you handsome rogue, when was I conceived?" Just so I can reply "Young one, the night Joe Boss posted the Ep7 teaser trailer."
